re: For momentary, light affliction is producing for us an eternal weight of glory far beyond all comparison” – 2 Corinthians 4:17

Thank you for posting this verse, I used it in my first official sermon. In light of Eternity any suffering or discomfiting we face in this Life, and plow through having faith in God that we will not despair, is but momentary suffering. It is part of how God knocks the hard edges off our personal "block".

Selah! (aka: "now, dwell on that".)
psst... See Hebrews 5.7ff -- In the days of his flesh, Jesusa offered up prayers and supplications, with loud cries and tears, to him who was able to save him from death, and he was heard because of his reverence. Although he was a son, he learned obedience through what he suffered. And being made perfect, he became the source of eternal salvation to all who obey him

I'm not even near perfect, but I know someone who is.

I will never forget the time when a friend and I had been out witnessing in our community. It was after I dropped her off at her home, that I had a flat tire. You would kind of think WHY? for I had just been out doing something for the Lord. emoticon But the Lord had something wonderful in store unknown to me that was going to take place within the hour. It took place when my DH and almost 5 yr old son came to pick me up to go to the nearby Co-op to purchase a tire. While DH was in the store, my small son ask something like this, "Mommy, why don't you tell me how to be saved, you tell others"? As I looked at my little one who was going to turn 5 in about a week, I just thought he was too young, so I said, ask me when I get home. However, the Holy Spirit seemed to say, " you need to tell him". I shared with him in the simplest words I could find and afterwards he closed his eyes and asked Jesus to come into his heart. When he finished, he was so overjoyed, he wanted to stop at every house on the way home and tell others how to be saved. emoticon About 15 years after that, my son surrendered his life to preach the gospel. He loves preaching and has a heart for the unsaved.
I still thank God today for the flat tire. What a blessings! Thank you Heavenly Father and Lord Jesus when you are at work even when I do not understand it. I know that you are working to bring something wonderful about......all in your timing.

For momentary, light affliction is producing for us an eternal weight of glory far beyond all comparison” – 2 Corinthians 4:17

Apostle Paul encourages the Christians experiencing affliction by reminding them of the fruit of glory that’s being produced in their lives. Sometimes we can’t always see or feel the effects of this fruit until the season is long gone. Go through the challenge with God and He will use the pain to build you in ways you never imagined, if you let Him.
