just to mention, I've been in refining of metals. There is one truism we must realize is absolute, even today with all our safety gear and science: The one refining must be able to take the heat.

The only one who is able to take the heat for us is Jesus. We are those who are being smelted, being sanctified by Him who owns the holy furnaces. I'm glad to know we are talking about letting the light shine. However, I must admit it can never be my own light. I'm sure all here would agree.

I am sure of better things regarding those of us striving to be found as those who seek to be known as relying completely on the New Creation in Jesus, and the gift of faith for those of us who saved. Prayers for all who do not know our Great Master yet, and those who have not submitted themselves to the fact of God. Thanks for this thread.

-The peace of Christ Jesus to all who pray for those in authority over us, who submit to our Earthly rulers, who thank God for being in control of History, and who live such godly lives among the pagans in our midst that on the day of Judgement these others will praise God for the work they saw Him doing in us in this life.

It is all to God's glory, amen. _ga-
ps. "_ga-" is my pinterest addition to most of my pins; just to let you know.

I'm not even near perfect, but I know someone who is.

Once a gold refiner was asked, "When do you know there is no more impurities in the gold that you are melting down?"
The answer, " After I skim off the top, I can see my reflection in it?"

When we are living as we should spiritually, we reflect Christ in our lives. Others are then able to see Him.

Thank you LaTonya, this is a needed topic.

Matthew 5:14-16
"Ye are the light of the world. A city that is on a hill cannot be hid."

"Neither do men light a candle, and put it under a bushel, but on a candlestick; and it giveth light unto all that are in the house. "

"Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works, and glorify your Father which is in Heaven. "

As I walk this Christian journey, I often wonder if my light shines brightly. Am I living the life I so passionately talk about? Can this world see my fire for Christ? In the midst of so much darkness, we can't hide our light. We need to shine brightly, making this unbelieving world hunger after our Lord and Savior. We should serve him with so much passion, that the saved and unsaved can easily see Christ living within us. Your Godly words and actions can bring healing to someone in despair, give encouragement to a broken spirit, your light can be a beacon guiding others to Christ.

Don't be ashamed to profess your love for God, proudly let this world know "who" you belong to. Christ being for us, is more than this world being against us. Romans 8:31

Dear Heavenly Father, Bless us to let our light shine in this world full of so much darkness. Give us the right words to say, and teach us how to walk boldly for You. You gave Your Son to pardon or sins, such a selfless act of pure love. Work in and through our lives, keep refining our hearts and minds...Shaping us into Your image. In the precious name of Jesus, AMEN.
