Do you know what diet you will follow?
I will continue to follow a calorie range of between 1250-1650 calories daily. It's been hard to stay on the low end and some days are downright embarrassing, however daily tracking is keeping me going.

Found some recipes? Yes, I love to cook. In the summer months,
Grocery list? Got it.

Shop? Yup.

Do you have the food on hand to get started? Yup.

Have you followed this diet before? Yes

Did you clean up your kitchen? Not much junk in our house

It took me time to gain this weight and it will take time to get it off.

I can do it....

Do you know what diet you will follow? I am not really following a diet. I do not buy a lot of processed foods. More like fresh fruits and veggies and low fat meats. Since my husband is diabetic, our meals are low carb.

Found some recipes? Yes I have a lot of Weight Watchers cookbooks that I use.

Grocery list? Every time I go to the store, I make a meal plan then a grocery list based on what I need for each meal.

Shop? Usually on the weekends.

Do you have the food on hand to get started? Yes.

Have you followed this diet before? Yes
Did you clean up your kitchen? Yes, well I have help with adult children living at home again!

We have been slowly moving towards a Keto lifestyle. Eliminating processed foods and bringing high fiber fruit and veggies into the house. DH is the most resistant but he does not have a weight issue so he can have his snacks and candy (outside the house) if he wants. But he does eat what is prepared in house without complaint.
Since NJ is known as the Garden State and our farm stands are now open again providing local produce it should make the transition easier this summer

I follow the Sparkpeople calorie guidelines based on my weight and activity level. I am on a high-fiber and low net carb diet. Have been basically eating "clean" for years and hubby eats what I fix, at least at home. When we go out to eat, I visit the restaurant's website and check their nutrition facts to plan what to eat there. For restaurants that we frequent, I already have a list of DO EAT meals in my favorites in the nutrition tracker so I can stay within my goals. I can resist his little snacks (he never eats them in front of me) but there are some things I can't have in my house. Every now and then, I allow myself a treat if it doesn't exceed the calories I am allowed and is not too sugary.
I have many, many recipes that are healthy and low calorie/carb, some that I have "madeover" in my recipe collection here.
I have steadily lost weight since Jan 1 and I don't expect that to change.

It's good to know I'm not the only one who's not following an exact diet, although I did just order the Full Plate Diet from Amazon to see if it's something I could realistically follow through with. So far, I'm happy to have nearly weaned myself off of the Dr. Peppers and hope to be completely done with them before Saturday. I also plan to stay away from the free food at work.

I've saved a few snack recipes, and I'll probably work on finding some more later.

I'll be going to the grocery store tomorrow to pick up supplies, especially bottled water (assuming the stores have replaced their supplies after the recent tropical storm).

Since I share the kitchen with my parents, and I can't seem to convince them to switch their diet with me, I don't really have much say-so about what's in the kitchen, but as long as I have foods I can have, it won't be a big deal for me.

I haven't done much of anything with my Sparkpage just yet, but I hope to get that going fairly soon.

My Nutrition Plan

I do not do well with any kind of "diet". I need to be able to eat what I want to eat. So what I have been doing is including more fruits and vegetables into my meals. Now is the perfect time for lunch salads and instead of chips I will have apple slices.

I have found many great recipes on Spark Recipes and have been printing them out. I will be planning my meals weekly with a trip to the grocery store at the beginning of each week to pick up needed supplies.

I do have food on hand including some pre-made frozen healthy soups and meals.

I go through my kitchen on a fairly regular basis now to throw out foods I don't like or that have been expired. I used to keep them thinking maybe some day but some day never seems to come.

I have not yet posted my 5% Challenge Diet Commitment on your Spark Page, but will do that soon.

Do you know what diet you will follow? I'm working on getting healthier and changing my diet rather than using a diet. I'm currently trying to stay under 2000 calories, but will continue to decrease the amount throughout the summer

Found some recipes? Not yet, but I have a good idea of what is easy and filling for me.

Grocery list? No, I really need help working on grocery lists. I am going to try to make one and go to the grocery store tomorrow night.

Shop? Tomorrow night, and will continue to shop at night (I hate going to the store when there are a lot of people around).

Do you have the food on hand to get started? I will on Monday, currently traveling.

Have you followed this diet before? I've tried to make these changes before and I was successful, but reverted due to lifestyle changes and poor decisions.

Did you clean up your kitchen? No, but it seems like a never ending task in my home!

Do you know what diet you will follow? Just track and mainly focus on proteins, carbs, fats, and sodium levels.
Found some recipes? Grocery list? Shop? Do you have the food on hand to get started?
I found a crock pot, make ahead, meal plan that works for my family. I shop and do all the prep work in one day (It's a long day!) but then I have my meals for 20 days. We have saved a ton of money and my family likes the meals. I just watch portion sizes.

Do you know what diet you will follow? No "diet", just healthy eating using the nutrition tracker and keeping in my recommended calorie range, plus making use of the nutrient balance pie chart.
Found some recipes? I find new ones all the time...saw a great breakfast recipe with eggs, avocado and hot sauce this morning. Yum!
Grocery list? I shopped this past Sunday to get started.
Shop? Will do again as needed. :)
Do you have the food on hand to get started? Yep
Have you followed this diet before? Yep, and it works!
Did you clean up your kitchen? Yep...except my boyfriend brought over fudge grahams...a weakness, so I tied the bag shut. Just the act of untying it slows me down enough to remember that I really don't want them.

Generally plate 1/2 veggies, 1/4 carb 1/4 protein. Stay within calorie range 1200-1350. Having 8 cups of water before other beverages (except my black coffee at breakfast).
I didn't want to admit it but the last month has shown me - I MUST track all my food. It works and I want this to work. Plus our budget is really tight now that I am staying home with the baby and I want to stretch it as much as possible.

I try to follow a whole food diet full of lots & lots of veggies, low carbs, and low meat. I consider myself a flexitarian as I babystep to pescetarian.

I hope to get back into tracking daily as that always helps for understanding the whole picture. I'd like to continue meal planning & prepping, using meal plans from Beachbody. These are great because they take all the guess work and stress out of planning and prepping, and they are different per calorie range. So even if I don't actually count my calories, I know I'm within range if I follow the plan.

Still working on getting the kitchen clean and organized. I moved in February and struggling with much less cabinet space, which adds a level of chaos in the kitchen I'm still not used to.

I posted my updates on my page this morning with my Summer 5% Challenge commitments.

Do you know what diet you will follow?
I am going to follow a diet plan designed by my nutritionist, high in fiber and balancing proteins, carbs and fats at every meal, while snacking on fruit, veggies and yogurt.

Found some recipes?
I have many recipes from Sparkpeople, cookbooks, and cooking websites that I use.

Grocery list? I always keep a running one. Also, am going to look at sales advertisements in newspaper circulars to make a list, and plan meals around.

Shop? I usually shop on Friday.

Do you have the food on hand to get started?
I just got back from vacation, and hubby will have more time now that he is freelancing to shop and cook. I will not be teaching in a couple of weeks which will give me more time to focus on making out the grocery list, shopping and cooking.

Have you followed this diet before?
Yes.

Did you clean up your kitchen?
Yes, except for the chips that came home with us from vacation.

Grocery list? I always keep a running one. I have started a spreadsheet that allows me to make a list to go along with each meal I make.

Shop? I usually shop on Saturday at the local farmer's market.

Do you have the food on hand to get started?
yes

Have you followed this diet before?
I've been tracking and focusing in on my diet for a few weeks now.

I'm going to continue following SP's Diabetic plan.

I have recipes I use that we like and the plan is the guidelines when I look for new ones.

Grocery list is ready--have pre-printed ones so easy to circle or check for what we need.

Shop a couple of times a week--Usually a Tuesday and then Friday or Saturday

Yes, since I'm continuing to follow the plan, already have food on hand

Yes, I've followed the plan before

Will post my plan on page this weekend.

I use the Sparktracker. We've replaced all of our pasta with whole wheat pasta, use only olive oil to cook with. Get 5 freggies every day and stay within my calorie allotment. Strive for staying in my fat, fiber and protein thresholds too

Do you know what diet you will Follow: I am going to follow the same plan I have been using since I began Sparkpeople, portion control. I weigh, measure, and use the nutrition tracker for every meal. I am making a lifestyle change and dieting is something I never plan to do again. This method allows me to eat the food I love, within reason, and still lose weight.

Found some recipes? Yes and created my own as well.

Grocery list? Yes, it cuts down my impulse buying when I know exactly what I came to the store to get.

Shop? every couple of weeks for staples. Fresh items(fruit, veggies, etc.) as needed.

Do you have the food on hand to get started? Yes

Do you have the food on hand to get started? Yes

Have you followed this diet before? I have followed a portion controlled plan for 2 years.

Did you clean up your kitchen? Yes

Low carb, low sodium, sticking mainly to lean meats and veggies.

Found some recipes?
Yes - Love Pinterest and Spark for that!

Grocery list? Shop?
I meal plan every Thursday, while checking the store circular specials
Check my pantry/freezer & Make Grocery list each Friday

I like to do some batch cooking over the weekends.
This helps because I travel for work 6-10 days out of the month.

I don't really follow a specific plan. I track everything I eat and drink daily and try to meet the recommended amounts for my macros on Spark and to stay within my calorie range. I plan my meals and do my shopping on Saturdays. I strongly believe that planning and tracking are the tools to success!

How to make healthy eating unbelievably easy | Luke Durward | TEDxYorkU

Did you notice the 'Sorting Post on Top' button? Click it to 'Sorting First Post on Top' to make it easier to read the countdown activities and read comments in chronological order.

It’s time to decide what diet if any you will stick to for 8 weeks. There are many to choose from - Spark, South Beach, Weight Watchers, American Heart Association, Diabetes Diet, Dr. Oz, Mayo Clinic, Mediterranean Diet, USDA Diet, Canada Food Guide, Dukan, Paleo, The Full Plate Diet or whatever else you choose. Everyone is different and you need to have a plan that works for you, with food that you like. Browse online or at the library for new recipes and have them ready. Regardless of the plan you choose follow the set of standard guidelines recommended by the plan.

Know what you will commit to for 8 weeks of the challenge and have your fridge and pantry ready with what you need. Find the measuring cups and food scale and have them handy. Declutter your counter, clean the fridge and be ready to make nutritious meals. Go through the kitchen and if there is food you should not eat make a donation to the food bank, and throw out the junk food. If it’s not in the house you won’t eat it.

Set yourself up for success with a weekly menu plan complete with recipes attached, then it will be easier to make the shopping list to include the foods you need for those meals. It’s helps when you are shopping for specific things and helps with impulse control in the food store (keeps the junk food out).

Enjoy the foods you eat, as they are making you healthier and helping you attain your goals. Be ready to try new foods or new ways to prepare food.
