Do you already have a daily routine that includes preparation for a successful tomorrow?
I'm on summer vacation mode from work so I have a lot of projects going on in the house. This week I am decluttering our basement office and sorting through school supplies.
Next week, I tackle the closets.

Do you have it where you see it often? Yes.

Please tell us what works for you. Planning ahead. Weight loss is work. You can't do it by the seat of your pants. You need to plan ahead. Meals, snacks, workouts. it works for me.

Do you have questions Team Members here can answer for you? Nope.

Win Tomorrow Check List

Every night before I go to bed I put my walking clothes in another room along with my shoes. That way I can get up early, get dressed and take Daisy out for our morning walk without disturbing my husband. Since this is a routine I do every day, I do not need to have it somewhere that I can see it.

I am still working on a plan for getting myself to the gym 3 times a week.

The only thing I can plan is my gym visit at 5am with my sister everything else has to be done as it happens. None of my days are routine every day something different. I have no set schedule other than the gym and that's my touchstone. I make sure that nothing interferes with that.

Do you already have a daily routine that includes preparation for a successful tomorrow? Not a daily one because my days are not the same. I'd say that I have 4 different styles of days. But. I look at my calendar each week and plan in my exercise days according to the week. This works for me. In addition I always have healthy food full of protein and fiber on hand and my kitchen scale!

Do you already have a daily routine that includes preparation for a successful tomorrow? I sometimes bring meals/snacks for the week to work on Monday morning, but beyond that and having the right foods readily available and a time slated for exercise, I don't really plan for the next day in detail. If I have a specific event that I know will be a challenge, I try to plan for that.

Do you have it where you see it often? no laid out checklist, may be an area for growth

Please tell us what works for you. making sure my environment supports my goals as best I can, having an alternative readily available when temptations arise. Reminding myself that I deserve health and happiness, and that it's OK to tell other people "no" when they are either offering me tempting foods or vying for time that I have designated for my workouts.

Sort of...

Do you have it where you see it often?
No... it's in my head.

Please tell us what works for you.
Set alarm to get up early enough to go to the gym before work and, if for some reason I don't do it, go as soon as I get home after work before doing ANYTHING else. Try to keep at least a couple frozen food meals at work with me to have on-hand for lunch. Keep oatmeal and low-calorie snacks in my desk at work.

I have heard that poor leg strength and poor balance are the two main things that make people give up independent living. Barring any major illness I want to keep living independently for a long, long time so I do lunges and squats up and down my hallway every day. That way I won't fall because I can just put my hand out if necessary. Before getting dressed in the morning I stand on one leg and then the other for as long as I can. I stand near a dresser so that I can put my hand out if I need to steady myself. These two things take just a few minutes probably no more than 5 to 10 minutes; I will continue to do them daily. That is my WIN for Tomorrow.

I'm posting this again. Does anyone have any viable suggestions?

Do you already have a daily routine that includes preparation for a successful tomorrow?

No, I don't. I have tried to make a daily routine and plan meals ahead of time more times than I can remember. (At 67, I think it's good I can't remember some of 'em!) We have debilitating headaches and "digestive" issues.
I'm looking for viable suggestions as to what I can do without having to make 5 different plans for each meal.

I plan my lunches at the grocery store on Saturday's and make a list before I leave. When I get to the grocery store, I buy sale items of fruit to pack. I usually eat tuna, chicken breasts sliced, or pb& j. sandwiches. My freezers are filled with meat and I decide that day what I will eat for dinner based on my desires during the day. Sometimes I look for a recipe on-line for dinner. My husband makes my water and coffee every morning to take to work and I pack my lunch before bed. Yesterday I cut up all my salad stuff.

Do you already have a daily routine that includes preparation for a successful tomorrow? No I do this in the mornings-- a goal for me will be to start doing this in the evening it might help with staying on plan better

Do you have it where you see it often? I will add it to the one I put up for task 4.

Please tell us what works for you. Not sure yet-- will change this as I get in the habit of doing it in the evening.

Do you have questions Team Members here can answer for you? No

I like to write things down and stick to a schedule if at all possible. When things can't be done on schedule then I do them as soon as I possibly can.

I use my planner, and start filling in the month before the start of the month. I add everything that stays consistent, and then add things that change, such as doctors appointments, etc. Once you have the routing down, it takes minimal effort, but saves valuable time on a daily basis.

If I cut up and set aside my fruits n vegies I just load up my lunch box and go. Usually my main lunch is provided but I also bring a backup. Also theres a cafeteria with a very nice salad bar and measured out dressing packets so you dont go overboard. I am also preparing my breakfast smoothie the night before so I can dump and mix and chug and go, lol! Busy busy with my boys to feed in the AM.

I plan my meals and treats at least one day in advance, often more.

I have a jug that holds a days worth of water that I prepare in the evening so that it will be cold the next day.

This summer, I am working on functional fitness so that I don't wear myself out with too many things on the schedule. Push mowing the yard is great cardio, as is a lot of the other cleaning and decluttering I am doing. Moving all the heavy boxes around is definitely strength training, and I have the sore muscles to prove it. There are a lot of activities that fall under functional fitness for exercise if you look them up. Everything does not have to be done at the gym.

Do I already have a daily routine that includes preparation for a successful tomorrow? YES

Do I have it where I can see it often? YES! In my head, and post-its strategically placed throughout my home.

What works for me: Right now, since I am in a wheelchair, getting on my Gazelle works for me, as I don't have to pick up my feet. Limit my sweets, and eat out once a month.

Do I have any questions that the Team Members can answer for me? Not right now, but thank you.

Blessings!

I make sure I have filled my water bottles and they are in the fridge getting cold for the next day.
I make sure I have my fave foods on hand so that I can prepare a healthy lunch to take to work the next morning.
I plan what I'll be having for supper right after lunch, based on what I know I have, and if I need to shop, I do.
I have my treadmill out and dvd's all located and ready to play.
I try to get in bed by 9PM every evening. I like to get up by at least 5AM the next morning because that gives me time to coffee, read, pray, plan, write, sit in the quiet, ponder, etc... and still have time to get ready for work.
