We eat mostly a Whole Food, Plant Based diet, have all the foods bought and here at home. This is the best way of eating for us and when I venture off, I don't feel very good. I did venture off during the break and gained weight and feel terrible. Kitchen in clean and there are no foods that aren't good for us, in the house.

Do you know what diet you will follow? I'm going to continue with the plant-based diet, combined with the Low G.I. Diet and the Dietary Approaches Stopping Hypertension diet (D.A.S.H.) I'm not diabetic, nor prediabetic but dr recommended that before and it helps. Don't have high blood pressure, but Dad had it when he was young. Don't want to have that too. Trying to bring down my high cholesterol, not borderline but need to bring that down with diet dr said.

Found some recipes? I bought some books about 3 mos ago on a healthy lifestyle which have new recipes. Gottta crack those open!!

Grocery list? yes, don't leave without it every time i shop.

Shop? Yes, weekend and once or twice during the week for freggies

Do you have the food on hand to get started? yes. Make sure i always do.

Have you followed this diet before? yes, with success. It's gotta be long-term though, turned 50 this year!

Did you clean up your kitchen? yes out of sight out of mind and it's spic and span too.

Reviewed my eating plan i have gone shopping with a list have not added things to my cart but have some nights switched meals around some evenings but not as often as in the past. stir fry veggies are easier when you buy the pre chopped veggie mix at Trader Joe's and the chopped Brussel Sprouts i find easier to roast then the full round ones still not a fan of tofu i find it mussy and has and odd taste to me . working on slowing down my eating 20 minutes for dinner is becoming easier next meal is breakfast .

Decide what diet will you I will stick to for 8 weeks. Ė Spark people 10001300 to calorie
I have a binder it has a master shopping list favorite recipes, recipes I want to try
A drawer with measuring spoons cups food scale a fancy one so I have the two books that go with it in the binder
Decluttering happens every week and when needed

Plan to check the sites listed and use ones that are helpful to me cooking for 1 can be a challenge

Yes, same as I have been on for 2 years

Same food every day. Breakfast is 2 scrambled eggs, or a bowl of oatmeal. Lunch & dinner are 100 gr grilled pork and 1 cup mixed veggies (1 can corn, 1 can peas, fresh carrots & green beans) I make the veggies a week ahead and freeze them.

Grocery list?
Yes, but same food every week is easy to remember.

Shop?
Every Saturday (meat once a month)

Always.

Been on it for 2 years, lost 22 kilos so far.

Grocery list? I refer to the Low Fodmaps lists for fruits and veggies that will not trigger my colitis.

Did you clean up your kitchen? I don't have an "avoid" food list. I use portion control plus boundaries on when I allow myself to eat non-healthy foods. I do not keep a lot of junkfood in the house for this reason. I do keep a small stash of chocolate or salty snacks for emergency purposes. Emergency being I can't stop the craving. I've learned I will eat my pantry looking for something to satisfy me. That results in extra calories versus the small amount in a Hershey's kiss or a Reese's mini.

I am going to follow the guidelines of the 3-1-2-1 diet from the biggest loser, 3 days 1200 calories,1 day 1500 calories, 2 days 1200 calories, 1 day 1500 calories, 1500 calories allow a supper out one day and extra snack you like on other day, I have a book on it and used it before.

Do you know what diet you will follow? We are on a strict budget, which is a good thing. Restaurant food has many more calories than home cooked food!! We are striving to eat out 4 or less times a month!! (Which if you knew me post budget, you would know how amazing this is!!)

Found some recipes? I have found so cool recipes using my crock pot. Not the leanest or healthiest, but it fits the budget & I will just eat less of them.

Grocery list? I follow this every week :)

Shop? Not my favorite thing to do, but its my job :) As part of my budgeting, Ive begun to shop only with cash. It has been super helpful at staying on or under budget & also not getting any high calorie extras!!

Do you have the food on hand to get started? Yes, I am sad that fall brings fewer cheap options for fruits & veggies tho!

Have you followed this diet before? Not the budget type :) But they "eat the same foods as the family" & "eat up all the leftovers", YEP! Been doing this for the last few months!

Do you know what diet you will follow? I will be keeping track of calories on sparkPeople.
Heart doctor wants me to limit carbs. I have been doing this since joining SparkPeople on July 13. I do eat fruit and veggies, just no peas or corn. I have allowed myself one carb meal once a week. (one slice of pizza on Fridays ), NO bread, cake chips , pretzels. or packaged foods. It's been going pretty well I have lost 20 pounds so far., so I think I will stick with it.

I will be following a diabetic diet.

My daughter has lost a lot of weight on Weight Watchers and continues to follow that plan. It's not for me but it's great to have someone in the house who is following a healthy meal plan.

We don't keep any 'junk' in the house. Except for my skinny hubster. And he knows to put it way up high in the cupboard so it's out of sight.

Do you know what diet you will follow? No diet, I eat whatever I want but choose healthy options and stay within my calorie range.

Found some recipes? I do have my favorites and will try a few new ones.

Grocery list? Made every Sunday when I make my meal plan for the week.

Shop? Sometimes I send my DH to the store - he enjoys shopping much more than I do.

Did you clean up your kitchen? Since nothing is off limits there is nothing to clean up but I do regularly toss out expired things and food items that it's obvious I will probably never eat!

Itís time to decide what diet you will stick to for 8 weeks. Your diet will determine what you eat and how much. There are many to choose from - Spark, South Beach, Weight Watchers, American Heart Association, Diabetes Diet, Dr. Oz, Mayo Clinic, Mediterranean Diet, USDA Diet, Canada Food Guide, Dukan, Paleo, The Full Plate Diet or whatever else you choose. Everyone is different and you need to have a plan that works for you, with food that you like. Browse online or at the library for new recipes and have them ready. Regardless of the plan you choose follow the set of standard guidelines recommended by the plan.

Know what you will commit to for 8 weeks of the challenge and have your fridge and pantry ready with what you need. Find the measuring cups and food scale and have them handy. Declutter your counter, clean the fridge and be ready to make nutritious meals. Go through the kitchen and if there is food you should not eat make a donation to the food bank, and throw out the junk food. If itís not in the house you wonít eat it. Eat wisely and 8 weeks from now you will thank yourself.

Set yourself up for success with a weekly menu plan complete with recipes attached, then it will be easier to make the shopping list to include the foods you need for those meals. Itís helps when you are shopping for specific things and helps with impulse control in the food store (keeps the junk food out).

Enjoy the foods you eat, as they are making you healthier and helping you attain your goals. Be ready to try new foods or new ways to prepare food.
