Today's assignment is to list 10 reasons you want to lose weight. What do you want to change? How do you want to look? How do you want to feel? What things will you be able to do in the future with a slimmer healthier body? And list all the OTHER things that you want to change!

Please put this in a blog, on your Spark Page or record it here. The most important thing is to have a written record to remind yourself of your goals and motives. During the 56 days of this challenge it will keep you going when you remind yourself why you are doing this.

1 - I want to achieve/maintain a healthy weight

1) Sit in airplane seat without a seatbelt extender.
2) Stop breathing so heavy. (I can’t hear it but my husband can.)
3) See my ribs again!
4) Be able to wear a belt with jeans.
5) Better flexibility. Able to touch my toes.
6) Walk/run Endurance (5K) (small of back aches)
7) Keep diabetes away!
8) Sleep without aching hip.
9) Better perception of myself! :)
10) Not feel so encumbered by my body.

1. Finding out what living healthy without a thyroid gland = understanding my new metabolism & when I lose weight it means I am making wise choices.
2. Keeping my weight in a healthy range & losing rather than gaining is necessary clue to knew life style path.
3. Hormones change as we age and weight loss means I am making daily wise choices for my long term health.
4. Want to look good for my daughter's wedding in the fall.
5. Want to be healthy & have energy to enjoy life with my hubby & family.
6. Losing weight means less stress on my joints & heart.

I don't actually have 10 reasons; probably more like 3.

It will allow me to be healthier, which means keeping aging things like Alzheimer's, Bad joints, Cancer, Diabetes, Heart issues, Stroke and whatever else comes with it, at bay. (not that these can't or don't affect any/everyone but I got this far and want to keep holding them off).

It will allow me to move better and think more clearly, longer.

There will be better selections in clothing at a lesser price.

I really can't think of anything else I expect to get from it.

Oh wait... I DO have a 4th!

Get of my blood pressure medication (a "sartan") before the carcinogens that are inherent to it's ingredients kill me.

10 reason why you want to lose weight

1. Be at correct weight to recover quicker from knee replacement surgery that ortho told me 6 yrs ago would be in 10 yrs
2. Postpone or never have knee replacements. Right now pain level is down to about 1-2 so looks good for postponing
3. Be healthier to help my mother who increasingly needs more help
4. Have more energy
5. Get chores done quicker so I can have more time to enjoy retirement
6. Get off all meds. Since June I've gone from 13 prescriptions down to 6. The 6 that are left are now taken only 3-4 times a week
7. Improve my moods
8. Enjoy buying clothes
9. Go on outings, hikes with my sister
10. Sleep better

I don't really have 10 reasons, but in order of priority . . .
1. I want to lose weight to reduce my cholesterol and triglycerides.
2. I want to lose weight so I have less stress on my arthritic joints.
3. I want to lose weight to reduce my pain/inflammation levels. (related to 2.)
4. I want to lose weight so I have a better chance of living longer.
5. I want to live longer, so I can be around to help my wife. (I cheated. That's 4., part b.)
6. I want to lose weight, so I can tie my shoes without my belly getting in my way.
7. I want to lose weight so I look better.
8. I want to lose weight so I can say I'm not overweight.
9. I want to lose weight so I can l tell people they can do it, also.
10. I want to lose weight so my BMI is normal.
That's 10. The last three are true; they're just really reaching to come up with 10, is all.

1. Less foot pain. With every pound I loose, I have less.
2. To be healthier. The closer I get to my ideal weight, the healthier I will be.
3. Set an example for my kids and grand kids.
4. The less I weigh, the smaller my calves get. I really want smaller calves.
5. I already like the way I look but thinner thighs would be nice.
6. To become stronger.
7. Pull-ups: If I weigh less, I have less to pull up. I really want to do these un-assisted.
I'll keep thinking of things and add when I have them.

My motivation is
1. Keep up with my grandkids
2. To hear people say you lost weight and look good.
3. To be able to wear smaller cloths.
4 I don't want to be so big I can't do anything for myself.( I watch my 600 pound life and I don't ever want to be like that. Its a huge motivator for me.)

I know I can do this, and I know we can all do this as long as we are willing to try.

1. To get far enough down in onederland that I will stay there
2. To be able to keep up with my grandkids
3. To hear that phrase again from others "you are looking great Ravyna!"
4. To be assured that I will not hold my husband back when he wants to do easy hiking.
5. To eliminate pain in my feet when walking.
6. To once again be able to get down on the floor with my grandkids.
7. To be able to play ball with my grandkids in backyard without feeling winded.
8. To enjoy life at 65 (next year).
9. To not be winded when I exercise.
10. To be able to say that I enjoy exercise.

1. avoid knee replacement surgery by carrying less weight.
2. better mental outlook
3. get my energy back
4. adopt a permanent healthy lifestyle through what I'm doing now - I'm not getting any younger
5. take care of the only body I've got to live in while here on earth - would hate to waste it if I have any say about it
6. able to keep up with grandkids
7. enjoy life and not be held back because of consequences from bad decisions that I have control of to make or not make
8. more physical stamina
9. not that important, but fun, smaller clothes
10. (tongue in cheek) stick around longer for my husband to put up with me. (we've been married 47 years and love to laugh/tease each other)

Today's assignment is to list 10 reasons you want to lose weight. What do you want to change? How do you want to look? How do you want to feel? What things will you be able to do in the future with a slimmer healthier body? And list all the OTHER things that you want to change!

Please put this in a blog, on your Spark Page or record it here. The most important thing is to have a written record to remind yourself of your goals and motives. During the 56 days of this challenge it will keep you going when you remind yourself why you are doing this.

Think of yourself reading this list at the end of the Challenge, and have accomplished your goals!
