FRANKIEKNIGHT3 i have struggled some day others it do fine . i keep my trigger foods when i have in the basement or in an upstairs bed room since i don't go up often so i have to walk to get then. in the fall when baking store it in the freezer that's what i find helpful . i have baked and mailed cookies to my brother every two weeks since 1999 ! i keep a few for me some times and they go into the freezer in baggies with two cookies each and hide them behind other things in the freezer. hope that helps ..

Do others in your household like it? It's only me and my daughter in the house she has a snack cabinet and I don't open it.

What works for you? keeping the snacks out of sight Fall is coming and that is when I like to bake so I will have to show some restraint.

Do you have any tips to share?

So this is a hard one for me. My husband keeps putting them back in sight. But i am keeping my water closer to me...

I found out I am not the only one who forgets with OSOM. I just cleaned out the RV and in the back of the pantry, I found the stash of goodies the kids got for special treats - MM's, chocolate bar, Twizzlers, lollipops. So... I brought it into the house and had to stash it again.

This was the first week back at work, and even though I put all the candy at home out of sight (right into the garbage bag) last weekend, I've been eating candy everyday at work. Next week, when students are back, I should have less access to the junk food, and I'll hopefully do better!

I was just working on my OSOM tasks for the day. I had some oreos sitting on the counter, and I put them up on the highest shelf I could find. I also moved some goodies into tupperware containers, labeled them, and put them away. I left out one container with taffy for dessert tonight (as I am having a friend over for dinner), but will put them away after dinner tonight. Otherwise, the counters are clean and clear!

I do keep either a WW frozen treat orsmall Dove dark chocolates around for a sweet treat...only one is allowed when I indulge. I have learned that there are a few foods that have to be OSOM...containers of ice cream, potato chips, Pirates Booty, & full pizza.

I simply do not buy anything that will lead me down the rabbit hole. Makes shopping very easy and I don't face any temptations at home.

I am fortunate in that it is just my husband and I now and we both try to eat healthy. We rarely have treats in the house.

In the summer when we are in our RV and we have the kids with us, we have some kid treats and I do try to stash them in the back of the pantry. I try to make a point of bringing some out for them once in awhile, but when I clean out the pantry I am always surprised with the things that never got eaten because they were out of sight.

At home I put ice cream, etc. deep down in the freezer, so I don't get tempted when I am just looking for veggies. Candies I put them on lower shelves and have other things on top. It works well for me, but of course not always. I do notice that a 'big mouse/hubby' gets in them sometimes. But overall it works here.

In my fridge I have leftovers on eye level so they get eaten quickly. I don't have desserts or anything in it. I guess my sweet things are usually the frozen things.

I find in summer there seems to be a larger variety of foods around our house. Maybe it's because there are more people coming and going.

Is it easy for you to do Out of Sight Out of Mind, OSOM, Awesome?

Do others in your household like it?

What works for you? Do you have any tips to share?
