Hi,

Glad you found this forum for TI. If you want any ideas you can message me.
Btw, if you ever want TI instruction, if you have an waterproof ipod or the like and waterproof headphones, you can buy an instructional that walks you through step by step as you are swimming!

WOW!! Read this tread and looked into the TI swimming and I am totally hooked. This explans why my son can swim like a fish. Really he looks like a fish in the water. He plays underwater as easily as other kids play in a sand box.

The other day while I was at the pool and finished my laps i thought to myself. I really want to be a more efficient swimmer and just glide though the water like I'm cutting it (which is what my son does) and later I came home and found this thread. Talk about timely.... this is just what I've been wanting to learn.

Thank-you... thank-you!!!

Margaret

No, but I certainly believe in reaching the "zen" point with swimming.

Life is not a journey to the grave with intentions of arriving safely in a pretty well-preserved body, but rather to skid in broadside, thoroughly used up, totally worn out and loudly proclaiming ... WOW! What a ride!

Anyone do "Total Immersion" swimming?

It's a type of swimming style that incorporates Tai Chi breathing and style. No, it's not synchronized swimming.

This explains it better than I could:

I bought the book Total Immersion and have started to use this style, I really like it! It's relaxing. One of these days I'm going to get an MP3 player like this:

Total immersion has lessons you can follow while you swim. Nothing like your own personal trainer. Lol.
