4th week
February resolutions;
1) follow weekly workout plan:
Swam 2x, job 2x, no ice skating! (boo.)

2) track food
I lose track of things towards the end of the day and tracking seems like a chore and I'm eating someone elses food, so I'm just guessing...

For lent I'm giving up baked desserts. So far so good. The first two days were tough, and now it seems easier(?).

3) prepare home made lunches
I'm eating inlaws home cooking. I think she might use too much oil. What to do? I guess I better cook next week.

4) Have a great race on the last day of the month!!!
It was fun!

M.b. I'll take ice skating more seriously in March.

Fourth report in, last of the month:

I lost 1.2 lbs last week, for a total of 3.2 for the month of February emoticon

Last week:
Swim at least three times, 7500 yards emoticon The weather is getting to me. I just don't want to go out in it and get wet.
No grains emoticon 4 out of 7 days
No sugar emoticon 6 out of 7 days
No dairy emoticon 6 out of 7 days

3rd week

1) follow weekly workout plan: 2-3x swim, 2x- jog, ice-skate 1x
Swam 2x, job 2x, no ice skating! (boo.)

I'm up for whatever...

Swim 3x/week (increase yards from 1k to 1100 yards) - made it in the pool 4x this week and increased to 1200 yds.

Strength train 3x/week - only planks - no circuits. Have to figure out a different routine that helps the arthritis in my shoulder not grind :-(

Sleep: in bed by 9pm, up by 5am for T'ai Chi and Meditation - well....almost on track with this one. Am in bed by 9pm most nights, and doing my T'ai Chi practice - but not up by 5am yet.

Third report in:
No weight loss this week emoticon emoticon No gain though either, despite eating crappy pizza, so I guess that's something

Swim at least three times, 7500 yards emoticon Yay!
No grains emoticon 3 out of 7 days
No sugar emoticon 4 out of 7 days
No dairy emoticon 4 out of 7 days

Not as good as last week. I really want to make 6 out of 7 for each of these

Same goals for 2/22 thru 2/28!

2nd week
February resolutions;

Swam 1x, jog 1x (on treadmill)...I was nursing a cold and learned that a sore throat is ok for workouts.

2) track food
Weekdays are fine. Weekends, I don't like to be on the computer.

3) prepare home made lunches
I'm eating inlaws home cooking. I think she might use too much oil. What to do?

4) Have a great race on the last day of the month!!!
Less than 2 weeks to go! This is the week for good workouts and next week is time to keep it easy.

2nd Report In:

Swim three days per week, 7500 yards: emoticon didn't happen this week. Crazy schedule, only got there twice, for 5000 yards

No sugar: emoticon 4 out of 7 days

No grain: emoticon 6 out of 7 days

No dairy: emoticon 5 out of 7 days

I would really like to be at least 6 days of out 7 on all three, BUT I lost another pound, so emoticon emoticon

Same goals for next week!

2nd Week Report:

I'm really tired today, so I'm thinking I still need work on the sleep stuff.

Swam Sunday & Monday - had hoped for more, but life happens. I meet with coach tonight, so I'll swim some tonight - probably not my full 1100.

No strength training, unless I can count resistance 'leash' training with the 80 pound boy! emoticon I am getting more T'ai Chi in - that helps relax me a bit more.

Going for the Gold in 15 days!!

Easy. Being at home with inlaws makes home made lunch easier.

Attended a race clinic. Getting excited! Less than 3 weeks to go!

RLK, we can do it. It is my first race too.

Laurie, I'm doing a reverse sprint Tri on the last day of Feb. It is at the local base, a couple of miles from home. My husband is doing the bike and I will run and swim. (!) The run is a loop around the base and the bike ride is a couple more big loops around the base. The swim is short and in the base's pool. It is the same pool where I do masters.

It is a fun event. I attended last year. I hope my combined time is shorter than husband's ride...but who knows. He hasn't been on the bike in at least a week and most of his practice consists of 'spin' class.

Weekly report:

High of 68 today with sunny skies all weekend. emoticon

emoticon Swim goals achieved!
emoticon Strength training - arthritis in shoulder is really bothering me this week for some reason, so I'm focusing on core and stretching mostly to give my shoulder some time to recover (in case I'm over doing it with the weights - which knowing me, I am).
emoticon - not so good - Yet! I am in bed on time (except for last night) however restless nights are making it difficult to get up on time, so am doing my meditation and t'ai chi at night (and during lunch, if time permits).

Good luck on your race Gor. I've been fighting to not talk myself out of competing next month - newbie frights emoticon

I'll post my January wrap up here, because the other thread said 'stop'
1) I joined the masters swim team and met my goal of averaging 2x workout week. The last week was only once, but I got 3x in weeks before.

2) I think I managed to eat home made stuff for most lunches of the week for the month. The last week was a blur or worry about in-laws visiting and I don't remember much else.

3) I found that I ate within a 12 hour window pretty easily if I started the day out right. That means that on the day after a late night, I should respect my (lack of) hunger and wait until my belly rumbles before eating. One good think about worrying about in-laws was that i didn't have as much time to eat mindlessly.
