For the last week of December I made it to the Y once for an elliptical work out, on to January and hopefully doing a little better with my goals :-p

Ugh. I had an awful December. The goal was three times per week swimming, which should have been 12 total swims. I made it to 7. Okay, onward into January.

I didn't get around to posting, but last week I did an elliptical session and the week before that I swam. So I fell short on my goal the past two weeks but at least I didn't do nothing haha

Yes Laurie, I'd like to continue the challenge into January :)

Still not doing great. Once this past week again. Although it's better than it was a couple month ago. In October I think I only swam twice all month.

My goal was to swim three times in December, and I finished that this morning. It's nice to be back in the water.

I'm planning on swimming once a week Jan - March or so, and then getting back to long bike rides or walks once the weather is nicer. I do like swimming but it's hard to make myself get up early to get to the pool. I can bike or walk anytime if the weather's good.

Central time zone

Start weight 189 (in 11/15) / First goal 170 (reached 11/16) / Second goal 156 (reached 10/17) / Next goal 156 again

I forgot to post this past weekend, my goal for last week was 2 elliptical workouts and 1 swim

actually did 1 elliptical workout and 1 swim

I was fairly active the rest of the week and the exercise helped take my stress down a notch, so not too bad. Same goal this week, gotta get those 2 workouts!

My goal was: 2 elliptical workouts + 1 swim with the new team.

I got in 2 elliptical workouts and a hike, but no swim. :-/ I did, however, find a new therapist who I feel hopeful about.

Goal this week - 3 elliptical workouts + 1 swim.

I only made it to the pool twice this week, last Sunday and Tuesday. 3900 yards total. I'm letting the stress of my life take over again, when it is the swimming that helps reduce the stress. Catch 22.

I've swum twice so far! It's so nice to be back in the water. I went on Sunday and there weren't too many kids. I'd tried a weekend once before and it was terrible.

This morning I did the 6am thing (ugh) and enjoyed it once I woke up enough. My ears hurt a little bit at first, not sure why.

One more swim probably next weekend, and then I'll get a three-month pass in January.

I'm jumping in a week late, but need this because getting to the pool is easy and the gym is hard. I need to do both.

My goal is to add going to the gym 2 days a week, get on the elliptical and do C25K program.

Today I made it to the gym and did Week 3/Day 3 of C25K!

I didn't get in a swim, but I did get in my first workout since October - 45 minutes on the elliptical while watching Archer.

This week's goal - 2 elliptical workouts + 1 swim with the new team.
Stretch goal - 2 swims!

For me, every other day swims because I need to build back up to a daily mile. from the 9th to the 22nd I'll do daily swims with pretty fishies!!! Walk the other days as usual.

So this week is a pass because of my art show schedule, but for the rest of the month I will go to the y for the treadmill/elliptical 2x per week and swim once each weekend. I should be able to manage that with my scheduled events :)

I'm going to focus on a week-by-week goal, instead of outlining the whole month right now. But my goal is to gradually increase frequency over the month.

This week's goal? Go to my first swim practice with my new team.

Hi! I'm new here, so I hope you don't mind my jumping in without even introducing myself.

My December challenge is to go swim laps three times before Christmas. :)

I used to swim a lot, even did a sprint triathlon, but I got tired of getting up at 5:30am to jump in cold water. But I think it'd be good crosstraining for tennis so I'd like to start again.

Ok, seeing as how too many of us have been slacking off (ahem) let's keep this simple and gear up for New Years...

Tell us what workout(s) you intend to do and how many times you will do it in December.

Then come back once a week and report how you did. If you're doing great, tell us what helped you stay on track. If you're having trouble, tell us what derailed you.
