WEEK 4 (Jan. 22-29)

1. Since it is the New Year, I chose an article from Spark for Resolution Solutions! All you have to do to get the points is read the article!

3. Breakfast, I like a variety Egg Beaters, quick breads, potato hash browns. and Healthy Breakfast Rice.

Healthy Breakfast Rice

1 bag of boil bag brown rice (it's called Success here)
1/4 cup raisins
1/4 cup dried cranberries
1 t ground nutmeg,
1 t ground cinamon
1 t ground ginger
Water

fill small pan about 1/2 way with water
bring to boil
remove rice from bag and place rice in boiling water
add remaining ingredients
let simmmer for 10 min

drain -save liquid and add a tea bag if you like for a spiced tea drink(you save it by placing bowl to catch in under stainer)

makes 2 serving

I eat 1 and put 1 in a mircowable bowl for another day.

OK, I think I figured out what to do!

WEEK 4 (Jan. 22-29)

1. Since it is the New Year, I chose an article from Spark for Resolution Solutions! All you have to do to get the points is read the article!

2. For your fitness this week, I want you to make a pledge to yourself to do 30 minutes of activity 4 times this week! You can do strength or cardio, whatever you like as long as your body is moving! You must do it 4 times this week to get the points!

My favorite breakfast is two eggs scrambled with a couple tablespoons of salsa and a diced up piece of string cheese, inside 1/2 of a nice warm whole wheat pita! I usually throw in a piece of fruit, too :)

4. There is so much going on out in the world today, good and bad. Why not stay read up on some of the health issues? Spark has a page for HEALHT NEWS. What I want you to do is read some of the articles. You will get 1 point for each article you read and you can read as many as you want! Time to get those eyes ready to read!

After you make your collage I would like you to take a picture of it and put it on your Spark page OR you can put it in a blog if you like. Many mornings I have a 1/2 cup oatmeal, 1/2 cup blueberries, 1 tbsp brown sugar, and 1 cup skim milk. A couple times a week I have a poached egg on a multigrain English muffin, and a 1/2 cup OJ or a banana.

Hi all! I'm new to this team, and not sure I should even be posting here. I am a bit confused, too. Why is the same post about this week's challenge on here several times?? Also, where do I send my points? Do I do this daily? Any help would be appreciated! Thanks :) And have a fit day!

depends on how much time I have--cereal if I only have minute, but I hate it. Oatmeal is great in the winter especially when I need a fiber boost, but my favorite is probably breakfast burritos. Here's how I make them:
low fat/no lard tortillas lightly warmed, which I stuff with all my favorite veggies--I like adding red potatoes, onions, mushrooms, zucchini, bell peppers and cooking them until tender in just a tad of canola oil. When they are done to my liking, I add them to the burrito--it's an easy way to get in 3-4 servings of vegetables before you start your day! Yippee!

Most morning I have a bowl of hot 5-grain cereal with dried cranberries, walnuts, honey and cinnamon.
When Hubby is home he fixes a fritatta type dish. He uses Egg beaters, Sausage-style crumbles, and whatever veggies are available. He melts a slice of Sargento reduced fat cheese on the top and serves it with whole wheat bread.
