Well Sexy Elves, I didn't meet any of my goals either. I'm not surprised, frankly I didn't think I would anyway. I still consider it a success though, because what I did do was stay very close in weight. I didn't gain, and I didn't over eat which I usually always do.

Now 2012 is here, I'm gonna rock it!!

well, I didn't meet my goal. I actually regained from my last weigh in, if I am being honest, and ended at 213. This had me kind of upset with myself, but really, I know what choices I made, and this is the result. Not the end of the world just because I don't meet a certain weight by a certain date but meh meh meh.

Going to the new challenge now.

Ok, so I didn't make my goal, BUT, I went up and am back down, so even though it's only 3lbs, I'm still down overall. AND, these last couple of weeks I have been consistent with losing, so that is my main goal anyway! I'm in for the next challenge - heading over there now!! Woohoo!!!

The other day I did Coach Nicole's new 28 Day Boot Camp DVD and it kicked my butt!! There's a section called "Total Body Challenge" that is like a Kettlebell inspired routine and it is awesome! Woo hoo! I wrote a review/blog entry about it, if you wanna check it out!
Then, last night I walked... like... 15 miles?? LOL FUN New Years Eve in downtown Pittsburgh!


I am not making "resolutions" this year... just hoping I can log into whatever challenge I am doing EVERY day, love myself all the time (not just when it's convenient for everyone else), and make time for ME (I want/need time to workout, plan healthy meals, read, etc).

I'm extremely happy with my results for this challenge. I did better than I expected and can't wait to start the next one!

I ended up with a loss of 13lbs over this challenge. I am not going to complain one bit about that! From 369 to 356. I am finally setting a weight loss goal for this year. I want to lose a total of 50lbs by my 40th birthday in May. I think between using this challenge and the Motivate one I can get all the extra pushes I need to make it happen!!!

Hi sexy elves!!

Have some days off, so I'm sitting here logging my food and exercise, etc. Have laundry going and the dish washer running. It's warming up outside, so I FINALLY see no obstacles in my way for my trail run. I already logged 45 minutes earlier this week that I didn't get to do, so I'm going to do that 45 plus another 45 today. Then it's getting the rest of this house mucked out, we are having family over tomorrow for a card game. Then Sunday it's a tradition, we all go out on the desert for a day of picnicking and looking for wildlife. Last year it snowed, and was colder than all get out. This year it's supposed to be in the 70's.

I will not participate in challenges but I'll come by and cheer you on if you'll let me! And we are all still Done Girls, right!!

Kate- We are gonna miss you! But it's understandable, this is the only challenge I am a part of as well and I don't think I could handle any more than that.

ANONSI- Life happens, that's for sure! Great job on getting back on track and getting those goals ready for 2012, you can do it!

ALL4ME- Congrats on all your success so far, that's amazing! LOSING 4 lbs during christmas week is something to be proud of!

Okay, finally made it to the gym after 4 days off from exercise and eating right and it showed in the scale. Gained 2 lbs this week which put me back in the 180's! :( Can't be mad at anyone but myself for that. But that being said, I'm slowly getting back on track. It's been tough. Just taking those 4 days off managed to wipe away the desire to workout. I'm back to MAKING myself go even though I don't feel like it. And my stomach got used to eating too much so I'm back to training my stomach to get full on smaller portions again. Feel like I'm back at square one right now but I'm trying not to let that bring me down. I know I can get back to enjoying working out and eating right because I was that way before x-mas hit. Hopefully it doesn't take me as long this time around to get back on track.

Howdy elves!!

Dang frustrating, had ANOTHER visitor last night right after work. So much for the cardio I had planned. Tonight there will be yet another. I managed the actual holiday DAYS but these days in between are killin' me!! Got on the scale this morning, and it's up. Go figure.

Although I love all y'all I'll not be participating in any more challenges. I'm participating in the Motivate challenge, and that's all I'm going to focus on. I have an art commission I'm going to start right after the first, so I'll be pretty busy. Plus there's all the stuff in the rose garden that will need to be attended to.

Things have been crazy weird here! I haven't been following this challenge as well as I could have. However, I lost 4lbs over Christmas week. Which puts me at only 4 more until I hit a 30lb loss!!! I'm working my tail end off trying to make it happen this week. I doubt I'll get another 4lb loss for a second week, but it would be FANTASTIC to start the year off having hit that benchmark. I'm nervous and excited to check out the scale this week. Since joining the challenge, I managed to lose 11lbs!!!!

I would love to do another challenge like this. I think through April Fool's day would be good.

Finally checking in after tooooo many days away from you gals! I was doing so well until X-mas eve hit and I completely fell off the wagon both food and exercise wise! I am FINALLY getting back on track today w/ the healthy eating and I plan to hit the gym tonight. Haven't weighed myself yet (because I haven't been to the gym) so I have no idea yet what kind of damage I did to myself. BUT I'm picking myself back up and getting right back on the horse!

Mrs BLT- I love the "DONE being a fool" idea! I think it would be a good idea to have a halfway goal of V-day as well as I do better w/ shorter goals so the amount to lose doesn't seem as difficult.

Nix- I love FINISH STRONG! Just the motivation I need to get back into the swing of things after such a bad few days. Getting back to the gym tonight and plan to make it there everyday for the rest of the year!!!

Keep it up girls, we got this!

How about the "DONE being a Fool" challenge? 13 wks from Jan 1st to April 1st. We could have a "halfway" goal at V-Day (a few days past 6 wks) and an end goal at April 1st.

if folks want a longer challenge... well I still like that name. :) but if we do it like the Sexy Beast one where we have more mini goals how about the Fantastic Firecrackers Challenge?

Jan 1st: SW
Feb 14th: Valentine's Vixens Goal (approx 6 wks)
March 20th: Sexy Springtime Goal (approx 11 wks)
April 1st: DONE being a Fool Goal (approx 13 wks)
May 13th: Mother's Day Goal (approx 19 wks)
June 20th: Summer Lovin Goal (appox 24.5 wks)
July 4th: Fantastic Firecracker Goal (approx 27 wks)

I like the longer challenges personally but I'm cool with breaking this into a couple parts if folks prefer! Bring it!!

Its almost the end of this challenge... but "every new beginning comes from some other beginnings end"... so.... finish this challenge STRONG with me! Hi Sexy Elves!!

Got back late yesterday evening, so I didn't log on. Today starts a new day, back to somewhat normal, all the junk is gone from my house, etc. I'm a happy camper!

I didn't stick to plan as well as I had hoped, but as Mrs BLT said - it's the healthiest Christmas I ever had too, so I'm also counting that as a success. The scale did not go down, but did not go up either. And I learned something else too. I didn't eat NEARLY the amount of sugary stuff this year as I have in years past, and what I did eat STILL make me kinda nauseous. My body doesn't like it!!! I need to listen!!! It sure made it a lot easier saying no to all the rest of it.

So this morning, first thing, a guy here at work that likes to 'give me stuff' came walking in with a big piece of someone's birthday cake. I was easily able to say I'm not eating it, he said 'yes you will, it has roses on it and I know you like roses'. The old me would have eaten it to keep from offending him. The new me waited until someone else came in that I could give it to. I thanked the guy for thinking of me, but said 'I'm not eating this, Owen can have it.' Didn't give the guy who gave it to me a chance to protest. I figure if he gets offended, he has the same shoes to get glad in. Yay for the new me!!!

So tonight I'm hoping to get back on my trail, looking for a good calorie burn and some fresh air and sunshine. Supposed to be a beautiful day here in sunny AZ this afternoon. Then I'm starting to clean up the messes created in the house over the past couple of weeks - gotta get my house back in order and all the residual Christmas stuff put away. Then hubby is going to grill deer steaks and mushrooms on the grill. YUM!!!

Well, I didn't follow my plan to the letter, but this was the healthiest xmas I ever had, so I'm counting it as a good thing.

Had a few more treats than I needed, but avoided the majority.

Got exercise every day except Saturday, so pretty happy about that.

My weight is up this morning (big shock :P ) so I'm pushing water, got a good workout last night, have one planned for tonight. I'd at least like to get back to where I was last Friday by Jan 1st, if not to my goal.

Hey girls! I did pretty good over the holidays. I had normal portions and only one dessert each day (a small one), so it wasn't too bad. I did have 2 french vanilla martinis on Christmas, but COME ON, they were FRENCH VANILLA! Totally worth it =) AND, I worked out both days AND worked out yesterday and then walked around NYC all day, SO, considering how much I know I ate last year in comparrison I did really good!!! I even lost 2lbs when I weighed in a WW on Sat =)

Today I get to go shopping for PJs in a smaller size. Bought two nightgowns this summer, and they are too big now. Yay!

Focusing on water intake and eating often enough has worked well through the holidays. For the holiday dinner I've eaten a regular portion, no overindulging here. Yes, I had some more fast carbs, but ate with moderation.

I see some of us are really struggling... I'm with you girls. It has been HARD, but I am doing my very best and making time for me. hi elfies- hope you had a good holiday weekend. I have a 50 pound goal by my bday at the end of July. Counting this week I have 31 weeks to pull it off. just under 1.7/week. I havnt had much success since starting sparks.. not that sparks isnt working- I havnt been. Im starting my Blubber Blast 2012. Its time to change this around or I never will.

I got in another 35 minutes on my elliptical today, I'm happy about that. Thank goodness, cuz the scale showed the same today as it has been. Considering my not so good food choices, I'll take it.

Howdy Sexies!!

Well, had to go to town today, that takes all day. Last minute grocery shopping to do, and an eye appt. I had some time to kill between getting all my stuff done and my appt, so I went and walked the mall. I walked for two solid hours, so that's another 120 minutes I get to log. Yay for me!! I walked outta that place without spending a dime, just walked laps and got my heart rate up. I'm happy about that, and my feet hurt!

Since I kind of dropped of the face of the SP-planet these past two months, I've not been in on this challenge.

Have been continuing the work on keeping up my water intake, take meds thrice a day and eating healthy and often enough.

As of today I am still in a size 12, but am hoping to be in a size 10 in trousers by mid March. Haven't been doing too well with eating often enough, so that'll be my goal for the remainder of this year and into the new year.

Kate- Awesome job on the hike! You make me want to hike in the foothills near my home, I think I'll have to recruit my boyfriend to come with me next week sometime. ; )

Vicklet- Good for you for not letting the missed workouts get you down. Get them in whenever you can, you got this!

MrsBLT- I don't know how you can feel like a holiday slacker when you are less than 3 lbs away from your Jan 1st goal! Great Job!


As for me, I had a fantastic workout last night. I ran for TWO MILES nonstop on the treadmill for the first time EVER! I never thought in a million years that I would enjoy running like I do.

As for the Christmas stuff, I am behind like always! I love to wait till the last minute! lol

Wow, I feel like a holiday slacker compared to the rest of you, lol. My gifts are all done and wrapped, we are going to put our tree up tomorrow, and then the horde descends (two people.. we have a small family) saturday with one more joining us sunday. A nice relatively low key holiday which is just the way I like it. And since we host, I can control (mostly) how much junk there will be - I have popcorn, and crackers (for the kids), and will be making one dessert for xmas dinner. So nothing too bad!

I got in a solid workout last night and have plans for another after work. Friday I'm going to see if I can get "extra" exercise in case Saturday gets too crazy, but my goal is to get at least a half hour every day over the four-day weekend.

Oh... and today I'm at 210.8... so my year end goal is definitely within sight! I'm trying not to focus too much on the numbers, just focus on making good choices. But I have to admit I always have the numbers in mind.

Hey Sexies!!

Wooohooooo!!!! I get to log 2 hours of hiking! What a great hike I took!! That goes a long way to getting me caught up for the challenge, and I'm happy about that. My feet are sore, there were some great hills to climb, saw lots of critter tracks, saw horses, they talked to me, saw cows, heard people, dodged them, great hike!

Now I'm gonna finish up the goodie making I have to do. And I'm off the next 5 days, so getting in the rest of my exercise should be no problem. Saturdays and Sundays are days I give myself permission to not get in any exercise. That's when all the family stuff happens. SO I'm not worried. Food has been a little off, but hopefully that will come to an end very soon.

Hey Sexies!

Weighing in this week with a 2.5 lb loss which means I'm only 3 lbs away from January 1st goal! AND I'm in the 170's for the first time in 2 years!

Getting nervous though because we are having our christmas luncheon today and it's at one of those Japanese Steakhouses and its heavy portions so I gotta be careful. Plus I have two Christmas dinners this weekend which will be REALLY hard. But I have worked out 3 days in a row and plan to keep the streak going through Saturday to counter the food.

That's gonna be my ME time this week. I WILL work out every night!

Been thinking about some of my 2012 goals and here are a few:

1. Make it to the 150's! (haven't seen the 150's since junior year in high school)
2. Get the home organized.
3. Continue to track my food daily!
4. Save, save, save!

You are so right about this time of year Nixie! I was just thinking that tonight I have to stop at 2 stores on the way home, make 2 types of cookies and wrap the rest of the presents but then I thought about it and said...when am I going to get my cardio workout in!?!? Nixie, great mini challenge! Just what I need right now!!

Another non-productive evening on one hand, on the other was a great evening!

I didn't get ANYTHING done in the line of final prep for this weekend, but DID spend the evening with my dad and step mom. We just visited, sat around a bonfire last night, had a few beers (Yeah, empty calories I know!), and ate home made chicken and dumplings. YUM!!! My healthy (sort of) recipe. Totally enjoyed the evening just chillin' with my folks. I refuse to feel guilty about that!

I still need to make one more batch of jam, two different kinds of candy and Christmas cookies. And I'm behind on my exercising.

IT's OK. I CAN DO THIS!!!

Yeah... its that time of year when we want to use an excuse that we are "too busy" to do something for ourselves or we are distracted with holiday plans, buying and wrapping presents, etc... and while those things DO take planning and time, dont let that be your excuse to get lazy with yourself. YOU are worth the effort, too. All that time you spend making others happy, impressing family members that could probably care less (and if they do, then they aren't WORTH impressing anyway), and doing everything for everyone... you can take time to do something for YOU, too. It's ok... I give you permission to love yourself.... starting..... NOW!!

For the rest of the week, I want you to do a few things:
1. Evaluate your goals for the rest of this year
2. Think about your goals/plans for yourself for next year
3. Make time for YOU. If you have to get up a few minutes early to do your workout before people get up, fine... get sweaty, take a shower, have energy all day. Whatever it takes, make sure you take time for you, you deserve it!
4. SWEAT. If you need to do something physical, make a workout out of it!! Work up a sweat as often as you can. Get creative. I KNOW you are cleaning something, organizing, and getting ready for the holidays... lets sweat it up, Sexy Elves... :))



I suck at updating and being "in" things right now because I am guilty of not taking time for me! But... I am working on that... and I promise I will update and catch up with all of you today :) XOXOXOXO

Good morning Sexy Elves!!!

Yeah, I'm up a little too. Went to dinner with friends last night...sodium in restaurant food!! I can feel it today!

We went shopping on Saturday, so no exercise in except the walking part. Spent the day yesterday with friends, because we go opposite directions on the holidays. We always try to get together with this family right around the holidays, they are like extended family to us. It's all good, I've kept my food kind of in check. I'm still making conscious choices about the food. I took half my dinner last night and immediately packed it into a to-go box so I wouldn't over eat. Today after work weather permitting I'm gonna hit my trail again. Then it's the last minute gathering up the different gifts for everyone, and getting them packaged up. I'm almost done!!! YAY!!!!

BLT- Way to resist those Xmas cookies! Being at work during the holidays is always the worst.

Kate- Great job last night on that hike! My favorite thing is tracking my fitness and seeing how many calories I burn, the more, the better! Congrats on the 1 lb loss, you got this!

Victoria- OMG, CONGRATS on your amazing progress! Feels so good, don't it? Keep it up girl, you are doing great!

Haven't weight myself since Tuesday but I'm still working out and tracking those calories! I was supposed to have a softball game last night but it got cancelled once we got there because the other team didn't show up. Didn't feel like working out after the drive down to the field so I decided to compensate for the lack of activity with a smaller dinner than normal and didn't have my usual light ice cream for desert. Got another softball game tonight, hoping that doesn't get cancelled (we are experiencing very high winds here in los angeles). If it does get cancelled, I'm definitely hitting the gym. It's amazing, I am actually starting to feel the DESIRE to work out! I'm feeling great and I hope all you girls are feeling the same!

Hey! I was totally stoked last night. Got in almost an hour of my trail walking. My trail consists actually of just a beat up road that follows a power line. It has hills, it's rocky, and best of all - usually never see another soul. I love it! It was a beautiful bright, sun shiny day so I took off right after I got off work. I hit it HARD. Did a little jogging but that is so uncomfortable right now, and I don't want to make myself really sore so I kept that to a limit. I don't like all my excess 'real estate' jiggling and bouncing all over the place! SORRY!!! Anyway, when I got back and figured out my calorie burn, it was some where around 690 near as I could estimate. And today I'm down another pound! YAY!!! So officially since I started with Spark on Oct 5, I've lost 11 pounds!

Feel like I've been MIA for a while. Happy to see that so many are still dropping the pounds. My scale has been saying the same number more or less for a couple of weeks - but today I jumped on and it was going in a better direction. Who knows if it'll stay there- but I'll take it!

So, I am not doing an official weigh-in until next month but I am happy to report that I've been amping up my fitness efforts (again) by taking new classes at my gym (ninja in training is my fave) and started tracking my food (again). Good luck to everyone who met their goals or made improvements!

I got in my 45 mins on gazelle yesterday night! Today is ST-at-work day, and I'll see about a walk this afternoon, and then 45 mins gazelle tonight once hubby is home.

I also cheated and looked at the scale... the damage from our holiday party (bad food laden in sodium) was minimal, I'm only up 0.2 lb from last week's weigh in. Score!

Wake up sexy elves!!!

Woohooo GSWINNIE!!! Feels great, doesn't it!!!

Trojan Girl, glad you feel better. I'd like to think is was my home made chicken soup that did it for ya - either that or your fear of it....HA!!!

Got home last night, did a load of laundry, 35 minutes on the elliptical, cleaned up my kitchen so I could start again, etc. Made two more batches of jelly, made my Christmas cards, and watched the finale of the Biggest Loser. Had a great evening!! Got on the scale this morning, and it's showing 1/2 lb down. Official weigh in is on Friday, and hump day is usually a high day for me. We shall see???? AND, I was surprised to see that because I had a high calorie day yesterday. I went home HUNGRY. By the time I stopped picking and logged all my food, I was about 200 cals over my high. Oh well, today is another day.

Ok so I am SUPER proud of myself. After not being able to work out for the past few months due to health issues, I was finally able to go out this morning and walk a whole mile without stopping. I could have done more but it was REALLY cold out and my poor puppy didn't have his jacket on yet. (Yes I have a little dog that requires a jacket in cold weather, he's just so small) But I did it... little victories..

I will do one thing today to make my life better.

Happy Monday Ladies, hope you had a great weekend!

My weekend did not go so well, spent the whole time in bed sick. :( And it's the kind w/ the nasty lingering cough so cardio will be very difficult to do the next few weeks. And TOM is here so I'm feeling especially bloated. Guess that means I'm gonna have to be extra good food wise since cardio is pretty much out of the questions for at least the next few days.

Any one got any chicken soup? lol j/k

Nix- Haven't tried anything new yet! However, I did take a walk to the grocery store and on the walk back, I came up with the idea to do tricep curls with the bags of food- that was a first for me! My boyfriend was totally impressed that I came up with the idea and he started to do reps with me as we walked. Best the part about it is the fact that I'm now thinking outside the box in terms of looking for ways to get exercise in!

Good morning Sexies!!!

WOW!!! Since I only have a minute, let me just say this to the group collectively. YOU ALL ROCK!!!!! I'm honored to be a part of this, you all push and motivate me to make sure I stay focused. So a collective THANK YOU to all of you!!!

Now for my weekend - really crazy busy, got a lot done on Saturday, then yet another get together and feeding frenzy on Saturday night. It was kind of a potluck, visiting a friend with his son who had come to visit for a week. I took some delish low fat enchiladas, which gave me a semi-healthy choice for the meal. I ate a little bit of the other stuff too, which I made sure I logged. Bottom line is, I made conscious choices, did not gorge myself, totally enjoyed the good food, and even squeezed in a small piece of apple pie. AND, I made sure I drank my water. I'm proud of me for that day!

Then Sunday - did a lot more jelly making, cleaning house, etc and then hubby took me hiking again. Got in a 90 minute serious hike, uphill climbing, etc and according to spark 1400 calorie burn. I'll take it! I'm just a bit sore today, but I'm fine with that. Lets me know I did something! Also kept my calories in range for the day, and drank my water. I logged everything too. This is all things I would have not done before. I think I got this!!

Got a lot to do here at work today, y'all have a super Monday!!

I was strangely happy about our last mini challenge and did so many quizzes, answered trivia, checked in with my "other" goals, joined goals on my teams, and really amped up my efforts. Even though I have been caught in a whirlwind for the last few weeks and trying to balance everything out... and am really doing well with focusing on myself a bit more, which makes me quite happy and proud!

My roommate is moving out on Wednesday and moving back West, she is selling her car this week (which is the mode of transportation I was using to get back and forth to Zumba and grocery shopping in the daytime while my husband is working, etc), so that will throw me out of wack even more. And money has been SUPER tight, but I am still finding ways to eat as fresh as possible and stay in my ranges... I am really proud of myself lately! :D hehe

Omygoodness, I'm kicking butt! I divided my goal into November and December. In November, I lost 7.4. Just in case you guys wanted to know the weigh-ins for November, here they are again.

Nov 1 (Start) - 278.8lbs, 0lbs
Nov 6 - 276.0lbs, -2.8lbs
Nov 13 - 273.4lbs, -2.4lbs
Nov 20 - 271.4lbs, -2.0lbs
Nov 29 - 271.4lbs, -0.0lbs

Total lost in November: 7.4lbs!

My Jan 1 goal is to lose 18.8lbs so with what I had in November, I've got to lose in December 11.4lbs. I can do it. As a matter of fact, I'm totally kicking December's butt and I think I might be able to make my goal. Whoo hoo! Here's what I got for December so far.

Dec 4 - 269.4lbs, -2.0lbs
Dec 11 - 264.8lbs, -4.6lbs
