I still haven't gotten my journal, but I am trying to get back on track. I have reset everything for Spark and mentally keeping track of what I'm eating. Not counting calories yet, taking things way slow so not to get overwhelmed.

When I get off track I like to go back to the Spark and start the steps over. I write my goals and then I pick a small spark streak to do for the week. This usually gets me fired up again.

It is not easy to get back on track but you have to be ready to do it-- if not you will not succeed-- I just had 2 bad weeks in a row and I need to snap out of it!

One bite, one day, one pound at a time. Remember you are worth the effort!

You Done Girls are the greatest! The journal is a great idea. I love the tools that SP has but sometimes it hard to get online with my daily activities so I think keeping everything in a journal will help me get the jump start I need to get back on track. Thanks for posting.

Rachel, thank you for that great advice. If you wouldn't mind, I would love to see a few pages of your journal, or at least a picture online of a divided journal. Basically what it looks like since I'm not sure I've seen one before! Is this a small journal you can fit into your purse, or is it more of a notebook? Do you carry it around everywhere you go or just use it at home?

Sorry for all the questions! :)

Workpeacefully - I think you said it pretty well!

I too keep a journal its also had 3 sections mine is what I eat every day along with what I weigh everyday (I'm a weighaholic, my journal of what I did that day and how I felt about everything I did that day and I also keep a section which has a list of the foods I eat often with the amount and calorie count. I need to find some inspiring quotes also. I do also try to give myself something I want for hitting a goal.

You can do this don't give up take baby steps!

I have several thoughts and ideas about how to get yourself back on track!

First, I have a pretty notebook as my daily life journal/planner/random thingie. It came divided up into 3 sections, the first, I use as my motivation/inspiration journal. On the first page, I have a running list of the reasons I want to loose weight. There are 23 of them, some silly (less surface area to shave, to be a MILF), some are serious (show my kids how to live a happy, healthy and active life, lower risk of health issues). Anytime I feel my motivation wanning, or I want to grab an extra snack, or don't wanna exercise, I read that list. It takes less than 2 mins, and it reaffirms my focus! Gotta love the instant motivation!

The second page is titled "Weight Loss Goals and Rewards", and is exactly what it seems. It's a list of weight-related goals (get out of obese BMI, pre-pregnancy weight, into healthy bmi, fit into a size 6, get to final goal, and maintain for one year), the date I hit the goal (only one I've gotten to is getting out of the obese bmi), and the reward I have planned for each one (date night was my reward for getting out of obese bmi, my others include buying books, tattoos, a little black dress and a trip to Victoria's Secret!). It puts what I'm working towards in black and white. That helps too, when I'm feeling less than motivated.

As far as getting back on track. Start small. One week, drink your water and track your food, not online, just on a piece of paper (if you use this tracker, you'll just get even more upset with how many calories you've been eating). The next week, start tracking on sparkpeople again, and add more fruits and veggies, and keep drinking your water. The 3rd week, start in on just a little bit of exercise, in addition to tracking, eating more fruits and veggies and drinking your water.

At the end of those short 3 weeks, you'll be back on track! And more importantly, if you start slowly and build it up gradually, it will be easier to stay on track. Yes, you won't loss tons of pounds at once this way, but it will be easier to loose long term!

Remember, slow and steady wins the race.

And finally, I have a page in my journal with some favorite quotes, I'd like to share some of them with you.

"Finish each day and be done with it. You have done what you could. Some blunders and absurdities have crept in; forget them as soon as you can. Tomorrow is a new day. You shall begin it serenely and with too high a spirit to be encumbered with your old nonsense." Ralph Waldo Emerson

"Don't let what you cannot do interfere with what you can do."- John Wooden

"Many failures are people who didn't realize how close they were to success when they gave up"— Thomas Edison

"Smile, breathe, and go slowly." -Thich Nhat Hanh

And finally, the quote I get my screen name from, it's in my signature, and I live by it!

Peace, Rachel

I have been horrible this whole month and I don't know how to get back on track. I've gone more in depth in my blog ( carboholic.codedesigncreate.com/ ) but basically I haven't been tracking my eating, I've sprained my ankle, and I feel like crap. I need help!
