Today: I checked my temper when my boss was a jerk; checked my temper when my cow-orker (who is fat) made a comment about my weight; exercised even though I have a headache, and stayed under my calories for the day.

My accomplishment is that, after being lazy early last week and sick at the end, I finally made it back to the gym. I only had the stamina to do my upper body strength training, but came home, rested an hour, then did 30 minutes on my treadmill.

So for the past two weeks I have been going to a group personal training class called Kosama. I am not in very good shape and it is hard, but the coaches there make you feel so welcome. I really enjoy going. It is primarily strength training mixed with cardio. I have been sick the last three days and haven't gone. I miss it and I am ready to get back! I feel good about how well I can do and in the class setting I push myself harder than I would alone. Best part is my office pays for it so it doesn't cost me a thing! emoticon

The power of teammates...

I was on an overnight retreat with ladies who are losing weight together. We got up Saturday morning and exercised! 3 mile hike - I swear uphill both ways.

What a blessing to be surrounded by people who push you toward your goal. :)

So I'm nudging you guys - how's your exercise today??

Yuck!!! I'm glad you DIDN'T exercise yesterday! It would've probably made you worse! I'm glad you're feeling better...just don't overdo it.
I didn't sleep well last night...still feeling crampy (and now much more cranky! Lol!!) my lady pains kept me up until almost 3.
I have to take my son to the doctor and daughter to Daisy Scouts all within 5 minutes of my gym, so, for gas reasons (I WISH I could say I'm a strict environmentalist, but honestly it's gas prices making me be efficient) I'm waiting until this evening to go to the gym. DH will relieve me at the Girl Scout meeting.
So...we are on again today! Both still not 100%, but pushing through!

I had grand plans but started feeling woozy. I went to the health clinic and found out I was running a fever. Soo ... early to bed, no dinner, lots of fluids, feel better today.

but YAY! for your exercise! And in the spirit of the challenge, I'm amping up my workout today to make up for what I missed. I'll report back later tonight.

Ok, CAT!! Cards on the table! Yesterday I did 20 minutes on the elliptical (torture! but better than the 5 minutes I struggled through several weeks ago!), 40 minutes on the recumbent bike, and my 7 machines for upper body strength training.
And the wet laundry was heavy as heck...probably should have done that before all the arm machines! Lol!!

I'm trying to psych myself up to go to the gym now that the kiddos have left for school, but I have crampies!! emoticon I know exercise can help...I was fine yesterday during; they came back afterwards. I've done 60 minutes of cardio every day, Fri-Sun; this is the last day of the WEC, and will kick myself if I don't do it today. Just not 60 on the bike again...yesterday my butt was numb! Maybe 30 on the bike, and 30 treadmill...or, if I'm ambitious, I may TRY the elliptical...that thing terrifies me! Lol!

Thursday- strength with personal trainer 60 min, spin class 70 min, yoga 75 min. Ended at 8:30pm so I was really tired. Woke up a bit sore so I am working the kinks out today with a Firm cardio blast DVD and my Spark fitness test for the BLC weekend challenge.

Nikki - Sounds like you've influenced your DH to adopt your exercise lifestyle. Good for you!

Cat - I am so happy for you! Riding bikes is a lot of fun! Its one of the exercise types that really got me on the road to health. I, too, hadn't ridden in about 15 years. Good thing the saying is true, "you never forget how to ride a bike". Enjoy!

My exercise today is 30 min on eliptical machine and 1 hr strength session with personal trainer.

My husband joined my gym, he took today off because we had a meeting at my son's school. Despite only drifting off for an hour between 6-7AM I went with him after the meeting. We did the 30 minute express circuit and 30 minutes on the bike.
I should sleep tonight!

50 minutes on the treadmill...tired. It was a long day; kiddos got up a 6:30 for the Easter Bunny, then we were on the move from 7:30 on. I'm REALLY in need of a schedule--this putting exercise off until late evening, after kids' bedtime is draining me.

It was a beautiful day, sunny and low 70's, so the family went for a walk on the trail. We went out to the 1 mile marker and turned around, so 2 miles altogether. It took a whole hour, but that was because we went off the trail to explore a bit. Fun day! It felt really good to get out with the kids.

That's really cool, Lorrie! I used to play the clarinet--I've been thinking of taking it out. I sing, too. Just not well! Lol!

Today for exercise I did 30 minutes of upper body strength training and 20 minutes on the bike.
I'm glad I went, but should have eaten more than a salad and bagel beforehand...I felt dizzy after I got off of the bike. I gulped some water, felt better, then drove home.

Hi Nikkei - I sing n a choir. I sing every day but only count SP fitness minutes on performances because we stand and do choralography, too. I also play oboe and flute.

Yesterday I helped my DSIL move. I only counted 4 hrs of moving heavy boxes and that was over 3,000 calories! I didn't include the other 4 hrs of packing, taping, and marking. When I retire I might start my own moving company just so I can stay in shape. Smiling (my phone won't let me emoticon.)

Lorrie--what instrument?

Today I did a total of 55 minutes:
35 minutes of strength training emoticon on the lower body machines at the gym and 20 minutes of cardio on the recumbent bike. emoticon

I felt pretty good afterwards. I was done around 8:30 PM, and it woke me up quite a bit. Then, I drove home, showered, and sat down...I'm getting sleepy!

Swimming with my 3 grandgirls for 2.5 hours - I counted it as treading water and it burned a bunch of calories. I was tired afterward but so were they! emoticon nap time was AWESOME!
