So I didn't hit my 10# goal but I DEFINITELY think that a HUGE part of my continuing to work at this was my accountability to this group and the requirement to weigh myself every week! So count me in for the October challenge!!! Thanks to all of you wonderful sparkers!

I had a wedding last Saturday, a family reunion last Sunday, and out of state visitors Monday-Wednesday. The eating part wasn't so bad. I just couldn't get in my cardio like I usually do. I am redoing the goals below so I don't go overboard.

Actual weight Friday, September 3: 158.2 (Down 3 pounds. I worked really hard for each and every ounce of this. I am going to stay really strong and stay consistent this month, even if the scale doesn't show my efforts.)

I missed recording a week, but I did weigh myself so I will include it. I have been going to boot camp for 10 weeks now and I haven't missed one class, but the "weight" is not going down very fast. The great news is I bought a pair of size 7 pants last week that fit well, feel good and look GREAT so I am still encouraged and know that I am doing the right thing and losing fat (just gaining muscle to compensate).

Everytime I start to think that me joining a challenge was a great big joke because of my lifestyle, I remember that just the weekly weigh-ins alone help me, if in no other way but to show me that I am making progress where I might not see it otherwise. This week I only went down about a 1/2 pound, and I know exactly why. It didn't make me feel much better but I'd rather lose 1/2 than gain 1/2 so here it is:

Well, I have not been as active in this group as I wanted to...I will try harder, as emotional eating is taking its toll, and I need the extra support lately (as seen from my numbers below) :( Will keep tryind hard...lots of weekend travel and wedding parties have been challenging my weight loss goals this month, but I know that is a lousy excuse. After all, eating right isn't about taking the weekends off!

Great challenge!

I'm going to set a five pound goal. I HOPE, sincerely, I can do more than that, but I am pretty sure I can do five pounds and I feel like I need to set a lower goal and be successful for self esteem than a higher goal and fail to reach it.

Starting Weight, Friday, August 27: 159 (Probably. That's what i weighed on Sunday)

Goal weight Friday, September 3: 158 (I already weigh this as of my Sept 1st weigh in...)

Notes for the week: It's not exactly a week, since I started on Sunday. But close enough. I need to watch the mindless snacking (I will literally pop a mint in my mouth and then forget I ate it until I find wrappers later). But we're off to a decent start, although I wonder how much of it was water weight.

Our town was hit with tornadoes last week, and I havn't hit the gym, or stuck to eating completely healthy atm. I have lost some weight though, so I guess, getting out there and helping people is burning off the fat!

In all seriousness though, The Plains, OH was hit really hard. People have been donating a lot and The Plains United Methodist Church has been providing meals, blankets, and water for the community. And it has been such a blessing helping with this. I have learned a lot from the people in this community, and I more then happy to spend my time helping out.

See you guys next week.. and congrats to all of you for sticking to it, whether you lost pounds or not, your winning the fight by coming here and pushing through it all!

I was disheartened last week because the scale didn't move and I'm still in the early stages of my lifestyle change--but I was happy that I didn't go up at least. I did manage to get two pounds off this week, woohoo!!! So while not at my original goal set for this week, the scale did at least go down this week and I am SO excited!!!

~ very surprised by the pound loss this week! I haven't exercised as regularly. Maybe my body is trying to tell me I was doing too much before. Nervous about next week, though. I am starting a long-term sub position in an EC middle school class and I am afraid I will struggle with getting in my workouts and healthy meals and snacks. This might turn into a full-time job, or I may get a job at one of 2 other schools (or I may get nothing and continue to sub! lol) I am taking things as they come, and trying to be relaxed about it.

Tuesday Sept 14: 135!! I know it isn't my weigh in day, but I just had to pop on here and post my weight! 40 pounds down, and I am in my goal range! I WILL maintain my weight loss, even as my life becomes more chaotic and busy!
