Hi Everyone!! New to Sparkpeople and this Team.
I am following a kettlebell routine from a book. I was wondering if there are any dvd's I can buy. By the way I have the DVD's that came with the kettlebells, but I prefer others. Best of Luck Everyone!! emoticon

Happy New You!!!

This is a good question that will probably come up a lot with the new members.

You can work out with KBs everyday as long as you vary the flow. So one day would be heavy swings for a short time period. The next day would be more presses and grind type moves. The next day heavy again, etc.

As long as you vary between ballistic moves (swings & snatches) one day and grinds (presses, lunges, cleans) the next you'll be fine because you don't train to failure with KBs.

In fact, that's a good point to stress. KB training is not good to go to failure because you should always have safety first. You don't want to risk dropping a KB on your head. Stop whatever you're doing when you feel form is starting to slip. Then go again the next day.

Happy Swinging

I was wondering about this as well. I'm glad to read the responses.

I'll alternate workouts, one day I'll do heavy weghts, low reps, next day, low weights, really long sets, next day an in between the two workouts. I usually do 45 minutes kettlebells, 15 minutes warm up/cool down with bodyhoops, mini tramp, jump ropes, or dancing. I get bored easy. I try for 3 days on, one off. I do some yoga most days, too.

Hi there,
I am new to the team but have been using KB's for over a year now. As for your question, I would say that you can do KB's everyday but I wouldn't suggest doing the same workout everyday. KB's are great because there are endless possibilities of workouts. Once you learn the basic lifts and a few advanced ones, you can have a different workout for every day of the week. Start throwing in things like bodyweight circuits, ladders, intervals, chains all kinds of variations. Get creative and LISTEN TO YOUR BODY and you can do KB's daily.

Can you do the kettlebell everyday without hurting yourself? I've only been doing a kettlebell DVD 50min for about a month 3x a week. I really feel good after my workouts. On the days I don't do it I feel unmotivated.
