Yay!!!! I'm so glad you guys are joining!!! With the bronchitis and the outreach breakfast I've been going nuts with all week, I haven't had much chance to post ... but I'm going to start some posts for conversation now, and I'm excited!! yay!!!

I joined the challenge! I don't have little kids anymore. We are a fully "adult" household now. Our daughter is 23, son is 18 and our nephew is here for the summer, he's 17.
We have been really working on creating inexpensive healthy meals that everyone likes for the past few years now.

So ... I thought it would be fun if we all did a mini challenge together. :) .... I know we all have our own goals that we're trying to meet, and we've all got our own exercise routines and nutritional game plans. I looked over the Spark Challenges, and I found this one. It will allow us to keep doing what we're doing, while giving each other a hand, too. Also, because its summer, I thought it would be a good way to spend more time with the kids :)

I joined the challenge early so I could get a good taste of it. I'm in the third week, and have been able to easily add in their challenges to things I'm already doing. Things like, making minor adjustments in your diet (more fruit and whole grains anyone?) and cutting down tv time to do something fun with the family.

Here's what you do to sign up:
- Click on "Community" up above there in the top menu, then "Challenge Central"
- "Official Healthy Family makeover Challenge" is right there on the front page
- Join the challenge! (gee, that was difficult)

There's a quiz you can take (to earn points) and lots of articles to read (also for points!), but don't get overwhelmed by those right now ... I thought I'd post them throughout the month and we can discuss them as we go along. Oh, and at the end? You can earn a trophy for your sparkpage! (Yay for iconic trophies!!! lol)

There's a display box at the top that you can click on the weeks, and the challenges will pop up. At the end of each week, you check the box, and at the end of the 4 weeks, Spark will award you the trophy. There's discussion boards, but no one really interacts with each other. Its kind of sad really. One gal and I talked the first week, but she hasn't spoken to me since (*sadpoutyface*). But we can do the discussions here on our board.
