Well this is the end of the challenge - didn't quite make my goal weight of 147.6, but got down to 154.9

A total loss of 7.7 pounds - I'm happy with that!

Week 3 7/31 = missed
Week 4 8/7 = missed
Week 5 8/14 = 156.9 (-3.3)

Hit a plateau this week and didn't lose anything...Definitely won't make the 15 pounds goal, but my own new goal is to try and get to 155.1 by September 1 and that means I will have made it exactly halfway which isn't too bad

So my best guess it that I have lost 2-lbs. I say guess because I have one of those scales with the needles and tick marks it was pretty cheap consequently I have a difficult time seeing where the needle is exactly lol!!! I'm jealous of all your digital scales that you can actually read clearly.

I gained 0.02 pounds to I am back up to 189.6. I need help with eating. All I want to do is eat and eat and eat. I really think I am a food addict..ugh Going to the grocery store today. No junk food just healthy stuff

1200 cal is recommended by most dietitian for people of my height. I am only 5.2. If I wanted to maintain the weight i am now I need to eat about 1600. But I want to loose it. Once i loose the weight and am more active the calorie will increase.

Only eating 1250 calories a day seems a bit extreme. Then once you go off the diet, you're more likely to gain the weight back.

What I've been told by my aerobics instructor is to either eat 1500 calories a day or whatever you eat over that you shoul d burn with exercise. This is to lose 1-2 lbs a week, which I understand is much slower than people want. By losing it this way you are less likely to gain it back.

You'll get use to eating slightly less and exercising more.

But whatever you choose good luck!

You would probably like the 3 hour diet. Is the only diet my husband will do becouse he can still have his icecream. LOL We have try many diets, but they all have a lot of restrictions and after a while we ended up feeling deprived. The 3 hour diet allows you to eat everything but in moderation. For example: If you want to eat white bread you can, but you can only have 1 slice, but if you choose the healthier low cal wheat bread, you can have 2 slices. Its all about portion control and timing. We have to eat every 3 hours, but within your calorie allowance. For example I can eat 1250 Cal. So my plan is :
At 7:30am: 200 cal breakfast
10am: 100 cal snack
1pm: 400 cal lunch
4pm: 100 cal snack
7pm 400 cal dinner
10pm 50 cal treat.

The diet says to eat within an hour of waking and stop eating 3 hours before bed.
This eating schedule keeps your body running and your metabolism working for you. The first time we tried it we lost a lot of weight, but then we went on vacation and never got back on it. But this is definitely something I can do for a long time without feeling deprived.

MELROSE1702 - thanks for the recommendation. If it's a tough workout I think I'll buy the DVD tomorrow. There's no way I'll be able to make it through the whole 40 minutes though. I have to stop pretty often in 30 Day Shred just to catch my breath. Lol.

I've never heard of the 3 hour diet - I'm going to google it now. 10 pounds in 2 weeks sounds awesome.

Well I started the challenge today, am fallowing the 3 hour diet and I did 2 1/5 of the 7 circuits from Jillian's BFBM. WOW!!! That was hard, but i am going to keep at it. I will push to do 4 of them tomorrow.

CLAREJULIA I was thinking 20lbs in 6 weeks because this challenge is to lose 15 in 4 weeks. So i figured I could lose an extra 5lbs in 2 week.

But i know what you are saying, the 3 hour diet also says we should loose 2lbs per week, but it also says that in the first 2 weeks we can drop up to 10lbs. So that's what i am hoping for. And the Jillian M. BFBM is the 30 day shred on steroids. That lady is craaazyyyy!! her advice for beginners is to do as much as they can everyday, until they can do the whole 40 min. So that's what i am doing.

Hi everyone, count me in! 15 pounds is a lot to lose in a month, but I will try my absolute best.

Rose, I know the general rule is that you shouldn't aim to lose more than 2 pounds a week. I'm no expert, but I don't think you would be able to lose 20 pounds in 6 weeks unless you went on an extreme diet. Anyway, good luck! I really like Jillian Michael's 30 Day Shred DVD, maybe I should get the one you're using next. Is it very hard? I find the 30 Day Shred pretty difficult.

Starting late on this challenge but i initially started another challenge on july 12 so i can use info from then for this as well. My starting weight was 185.8 now im down to 179 not sure if i ll meet the 15lbs by sept 1 but i will definately try hard.

So I am doing great so far, very surprised since it was my birthday on the 26th and I thought my two cupcakes then my slice of cheesecake were going to do me in. But I worked it out, so far down 11.5lbs.

Slowly but surely getting there. August is gonna be the month when I seriously kick some butt. I heard somewhere that it takes about a month for the weight loss to kick it. Well, i've just had my month anniversary. I need to lose at least 2 lbs a week every week from now on to get to my 15lb goal by Sep 1st. I'm soooo gonna do this!

This week has been good/bad. The good- I have eaten all meals at home, which is really good for me. The bad is i have gone over my calories by 300 both monday and tues. But i have worked out. My goal from today till sunday is stick right on the calorie line.

LovePink120 on the edit page of your spark profile towards the bottom is where you can design your ticker that will appear at the bottom of your messages. Hope this helps ya out.
I weigh in on mondays some do fridays. You can pick which ever day you like.

Hey everyone! I'd love to join this challenge with all of you! I begin work in a new classroom shortly after September 1st, and I could surely use a little less weight and a lot more energy to keep up with my students.
