When I think of focus and brain health, my mind goes first to essential fatty acids. Our world is so against the needed, healthy fats. The brain doesn't do well on sugar. It does better on the right kinds of (but not too much or too little) fat.

As for a younger person having focus issues, some times it is because they weren't trained like older people were. When I went to school, we first practiced "Listening Bodies" and someone actually taught us how to sit still and focus. Likewise, they kept training one more step on top of that one until we could all sit and read or do something for hours on end. In the day and age of "instant" many people have lost this simple skill.

Got this response posted on my SparkPage, so thought I'd share it with the team.

"I bought 'food grade iodine' (150mcg per drop) and put 1 drop into our morning 'cup-of' and I also am using Kelp pills and even Iodoral. My Iodine is only 150mcg and I am using the Iodoral 12.5mg and we take 1/2 pill. The Kelp won't hurt anyone. "

I live quite close to a granddaughter having problems focusing enough to complete her homework. If she were living closer, I could take her for a more formal assessment etc. But I cannot.
I'm looking for a vitamin / nutrient to get for her that's known for its ability to focus the mind.
