When I quit, I started carrying a bottle of water (to replace pack of smokes) I never left the house without my water. Taking sips and drinking more helps with cravings. Also Cinnamon hard candies or the little red ones. Or cinnamon gum. Go from one candy to another when you get tired with one. I have been smoke free for 11 years in Aug! It is the hardest habit to break, but there are alot of people out there who have Kicked the Habit!
Good Luck.

yes i do have a plan of action. i will chew gum and the patches will help with the cravings. i also have some straws, sugarless gum, mints and toothpicks which should keep my mouth busy. these are just a few things others have recommended for awhile until the urges pass. i thank that i can do it this time. even though, i may get a little bit nervous but this is something that i really need to do.

Hello kathleen

One of the hardest things to do is to quit smoking, in my opinion. I have tried 4 times, each time the length of time of being smoke free lasted longer. Just because you have tried before doesn't mean you are destine to be a smoker. It takes time to adjust. Are you doing this cold turkey or do you have a plan of action?

i am going to quit smoking this month. i have been doing this for quite some time and every time i set a date i seem to go into depression so here is the deal i will attempt to do it this month. there is no promise but i will try. every time i anticipate it i haven't been able to do it.
