Well I"m disappointed, to say the least.

Tonight's Square Dance has been Cancelled. Why? Because of snowy conditions. I'm not upset, i'm mad. Here is what could have been.

The square dance would have lasted for several hours. I would have danced for about three. Three hours of Square dancing would have been over 1500 calories burned.

So I have not met the challenge yet cause I didn't do the activity.

man!

SO at lunch I went out to go skipping, for 15/20 mins.

I last 30 secs before my knee said no more of this.

I guess skipping will have to wait until I'm a few pounds less

The Discovery Challenge!

We need a break for high intense challenges to one that has some freedom fun and is educational while burning calories. So here it is: The Discovery Challenge!

From Thursday 8 – Saturday 17, the days of fun, you will investigate and do “Other Activity” Cardio.

Have you ever noticed when you log in your cardio for the day under the “Browse” tag, under the dropdown menu, there is group called “Other Activities”? These other activities are games, dancing, sports, and past time actives. I’m amazed at how many calories we can burn doing these things. If I were to do:

60 mns Billiards I would burn 210
60 mins Fishing – Standing I would burn 294
30 mins Hacky Sack I would burn 186
60 mins of Ice Skating I would burn 672
30 mins Ping Pong I would burn 156
15 mins Skipping I would burn 270
30 mins Squash I would burn 510

Calories burned are based on a general formula, which factors in our weight. If you are heavier than me, you may burn more calories; if you are lighter, you may burn less.

Skipping? For 15 mins! Are you kidding me? I’m so there.

The Challenge: I challenge all of you to do some “other activities” this week (keep it G rated). And log them into this thread. Here are the rules:

Do any activity listed (you must do the activity)
As long as you like
Log it in on your fitness tracker
Tell us about it in this thread/

This is a fun, silly challenge that will help us to realize there are lots we can do to burn those calories. By doing this and sharing, I hope we can find alternatives to break up our routines, help keep us motivated and give us something else to do!
