Use ice trays to freeze the liquids you usually drink (like iced tea or lemonade), and then use those in your drinks instead of regular ice cubes - it keeps your drinks from becoming diluted.
We used to have a dwarf lemon tree that produced lemons like CRAZY... I'd squeeze the lemon juice into ice trays (1 oz per) and freeze it. Whenever we wanted a glass of fresh lemonade, I could just pop out one lemon cube, add water and sugar/sweetener, and VOILA!
Ice trays are great for sorting tiny little things; the problem is, you can't "dump" the items out as a group. As long as you're going to pick out each item one by one, it works well.
Chef Meg did a video using an ice cube tray to pre-measure spices when cooking; again, the problem is, how do you dump out just one or two spices at at time? I couldn't figure it out.
DH uses one for his meds; he pours out his pills into each section, then fills up his weekly medicine holder. It's a lot easier for his fingers, because some of his pills are REALLY tiny!
I also use ice cube trays to hold the smallest Lego pieces when Kaile and I play. I store the one-bump and two-bump Legos in small plastic bags inside the big Lego bucket; putting them in the trays when we're building makes it easier to pick them out and see what's left.
BTW, have you seen how EXPENSIVE ice cube trays are now? I've been checking around, to replace the six trays I use daily, and they run about 2 for $5 or $3 each! That's crazy...
