Talk about motivation CBARNARD22! I bet he has some helpful tips too, but I remember when I wanted to lose weight initially, I was like, nope not going to tell my BF and just do it and he actually couldn't even tell, until he looked at old pictures of me. :) Sweet guy. But yeah, it's always good to have an incentive and motivation!

Im total In. Im taking pictures with my boyfriend whos a pro mma fighter in august so i need to look super crazy hot. Losing 10 pounds will help me do that because we are taking the pictures no matter what my weight. He thinks Im perfect now but just wait emoticon

yeah weekends are really hard for a lot of us 20somethings i think. I just always remind myself that to gain an entire REAL pound, you have to consume an excess 3500cal. that's kind of a lot. it's okay to have a couple days on the weekend where you're not in your normal weigh loss calorie zone.

Well my weight was way up when I weighed in Friday, and then I had a REALLY bad weekend. Can't waste time beating myself up, though- gotta get back on track!

Hey everyone – good to see so many people in on the challenge. Hope everyone has a good week. I’m ready to get back on track and give it my all after 3 weeks of wining and dining with my mum (mostly wining - hahha). She’s gone now, and I’m more focused, but also totally exhausted - complete with a bad cold! Can’t wait to feel better and hit the gym. I’m pushing the fluids though, and this morning I had a good weigh in thanks to all that water. Hopefully I will be back in line with my weekly goals by next week. Stocking up on lil green monster ingredients today after work! :) And lots of cottage cheese for high protein snacks. want to try the kale chips, but havent been able to find any kale...

Agghh! Had a really bad week last week with so many late nights and so much uni work but at least I didn't put on! Got a friend in on the challenge too though, so maybe that extra motivation will help! Keep up the good work everyone!

Good thing I have that big drop the first week- mid week I peaked at the scale (I know, so terrible) and saw 137.5 so hopefully I just had more sodium in my diet last night (the hubby made wonderful shrimp, aspargus and brown rice with Old Bay Seasoning- so good but high in sodium). Maybe I will have a "2 lbs"
drop next Sunday too then. Good work everyone- keep going!

KOEKJES, so glad you got to try the chips. Gosh I miss them! I've been out of town for work and actually don't think I can do a weigh-in til next week sometime when I go back home. On my trip I ate THE WORST foods, and I only say that because they tore my stomach up and really made me feel sick. :( Eating less processed makes me feel so much better.

Anyway, I am off to start my Sunday and hopefully have a nice breakfast. :) Also, I really just ate intuitively the past week so I'm hoping that shows for something.

MADDYL,

I was having trouble with protein shakes, too, until my trainer gave me this recipe:

1.5 cups milk
2 cups frozen strawberries, still frozen
2 ripe bananas
2 cups vanilla or strawberry yogurt
1 scoop/packet protein powder

Blend together! Makes 5 servings and lasts for a few days in the fridge.

CORTNEYJ I love that you tried the Green Monsters! Even better is that they can help your skin. ;) That's incentive enough for me! I'm really so happy that you like them and for me, they are perfect for hot summers when I just want something like in the mornings. I know some people add Almond Butter or Blueberries, etc. But I like to stick to the original recipe that works for me. Oh, and you can totally use a whole serving of Jay Robb's I just had to be conservative because I was running out. ;)

In other updates I've been in Georgia for work this past week and my meals have been suffering. I've been so hot that I'm not really hungry and then barely drink because the 'facilities' are few and far in between. Ah, gotta run for another meeting, but I'm curious what this is doing for this challenge. I'm trying to hope for the best and that I'm at least maintaining!

Good luck JULIANAM on your last chance workout!! I weighed in today and went to spin class last night to get in my last chance workout - the super hard class was kind of negated by the massive amounts of chips and salsa I indulged in after though :)

You really should try the Green Monsters - the nice thing about the ingredients is that, even if you end up hating the smoothies (which you won't), you can use the ingredients otherwise!! I got my Jay Robb's Vanilla Protein at King Soopers in the vitamin area so you should be able to find it anywhere! I bet any vanilla protein would be a fine substitute if you had to though!

My weigh-in is tomorrow! Going to the gym later to get a "last chance" work out in :) Hope it goes as well as everyone else's has. Congrats to everyone who has lost so far!!
I really want to start trying the Green Monster's, where could I get the Vanilla Protein or are there any other substitutes people use for this receipe? It sounds good!

Hey MADDYL! The Green Monster smoothies are something SATISFYMYSOUL recommended - she has them every day for breakfast! I made one yesterday and loved it so much I'm going to try making them my morning ritual (I had another one today).

The recipe she uses is:
-2 handfuls of baby spinach
-1 frozen banana
-1 cup Almond breeze (I substituted Light Vanilla soy milk here)
-1/2 serving Jay Robb's Vanilla Protein

They're absolutely delicious!!

WOW! There are so many new faces to the forum so YAY! That's awesome and exciting. Wow, to think that we're all in it together is fun and challenging.

I have to say my weigh-in was 113.6--exactly my weight from last week! But during the week I weighed myself and around Thurs I'd gone down a pound. I am hoping that I can see some changes once I get home, because I'm out of town until AT LEAST Sunday and even then, might not have access to a scale so I'll use the next best thing: my hunger scale. And just listening to my body and how the foods I'm eating are making me feel.

And I'll try to stay away from too many processed foods. ;) That's a big goal for me. I hope to report back with good news and great to have more people aboard!

Hey everyone – Just checking in. Fridays are my weigh in days. This weekend I was out of town though and had to leave sooo early Friday morning I forgot to weigh myself. Unfortunately I weighed in this morning and am about 3.5 pounds above my last weigh in. Frustrating, but hopefully its just lots of water weight from the long weekend. I ate and drank a lot but know i didnt really consume an excess 12,250 calories to really gain that much. hahaha Out of town AGAIN this weekend, but going to do the best I can, and then head into overdrive for the remaining 8 weeks of the challenge. Can't wait to get back into my workout routine! I’m pretty sure I can still hit the goal, or at least get pretty close to it… good luck this week!

Count me in to I have been on a diet for almost two weeks now and last week lost 5 pounds. This week don't know yet I weight tomorrow. I would like to look better for Vacation at the end of the month.

Count me in! My lil sis is getting married the end of July, so I've got the "gotta-look-good-in-the-bridesmaid-dress" incentive this summer, too! I definitely want to focus on toning my arms :)

Hi there!! I am new to this forum and really would love to lose 10lbs by August! My actual goal is 20lbs Aug 1. But 10lbs would be fine too! I am in a bridal party Aug 8 and don't fit into my dress!!

Hi!
I'd really like to join up (but I'm an Aussie so I'll try for 1 kilo a week!).
I've been trying to get rid of around six kilos (roughly twelve pounds)for so long now and I feel like I've used up all methods of motivation - this challenge seems really inspiring though so I'm going to give it all I've got!

hi,
this is soma and i have been trying to lose 5 kilos in the last 5 months with no luck....i lose a kilo and a half n then i just put it all back on..i cant seem to be consistent or keep it off
i put on this 3 kilos while on vacation last yearfrom sept to nov end...and now i am stuck..dont know what i am doing wrong emoticon

hi,
i am 5feet 2 inches,and am desperately trying to knock off 5 kilos,thats abt a bit more than 10 pounds,all i do is lose i kilo and put it back on 5 times in the last 3 months.
i had travelled to london in the month of sept last year and i was 52 kilos and now i am 55,i would like to be 50.I have no clue what ia am doing wrong... emoticon

In it to win. Awesome challenge I was searching for a new uncomplicated goal (1st one was a trip on 25th to costa rica :) ) this one is key. Only my weigh in days are thurs and I keep giving and taking the same five pounds but feeling my body becoming tighter and clothes fitting better. I get the idea that I'm building muscle but i'm lost on the weight part. Positive thoughts only positive thoughts:)
