You didn't let us down - it's up to each one of us to keep the challenge current and active. I was bad not to update my post over the weekend, but I have been updating it it regularly for the entire challenge. I have my post going through August 11, and I will finish it - even though it means I will have to try a little harder when I leave for a mini weekend vaca with my daughter and granddaughter this Friday.

Sorry team. I really let you down on this one. Did okay, but with all the stress I had I really put this on the back burner. Please let us know by posting here how you all did with this challenge. Come on team --- I'm the cheer leader for today ---go back and check your challenge and get caught up on recording... Doing and praising the Lord as we walk with Him .... Praying for our team too - Rejoicing with good results thus far. I went to the beginning of the challenge and read up through the lists of you meeting goals ...Great!!! Those who are counting lots of steps amazes me...I cannot do that but love to see other succeed as you are doing ... I am not centering on that goal right now and am falling way short but growing in other areas of life and health as it is all good.

Great job all. I will be going up to NH tomorrow for my son's operation on Monday. Hope to be gone only 1 week, but this is a complicated surgery and I have no idea how long we will have to stay. I love all these choices to try and get under control. It was a half and half start for me. The one thing I really need under control is the potato chip addiction and yesterday was a YEAH day for me in that area.

I am excited to see how we all do in 30 days. Remember you probably will not be perfect, but being more aware of what you need to deal with is a big part of the solution. If you mess up one day, just put that behind you and work on the next.

Praying for myself and all these wonderful ideas you are all working on. Looks like many have saddled up for this challenge and are out and running. Keep it up.

MY choice for - Lord, Give Me Just One More: Lord just give me desire to have clean house followed by actions to accomplish that. [Since Dec 1 spinal surgery I have not done any cleaning except my bathroom and the last three weeks have cooked one meal and loaded or unloaded dishwasher per day] So goal is to gather, sort, and put away or throw away one laundry basket full of "stuff" per day...And wash down or dust or Clean the area emptied.

How Often I Will Track: Once a day with a few words to tell what area
July 11: Box full of mail and stuff from dining room table and desk to the office, organized and discarded much and pain month's bills Cleared table looks nice!!!
July 12: Tues and Farmer's market day so we are gone all afternoon but took laundry basket full of things from two basement rooms and put them in proper places upstairs - then took same basket to the deep freezer and sorted some of the things in it and took a load to the kitchen for cooking, placing in fridge and freezer upstairs... accomplished!!
July 13: Did not accomplish today ...too much other going on...life happens!! To morrow will try to do 2 baskets full. I did get in an extra trip to town for hubby and a quick visit to friend that needed cheering up so day is still good!!!
July 14: : Thurs- cleared one box from bottom of clothes closet - assigned some to winter ox, some to garbage and some hung up for use and some still too small but getting closer.
July 15: Sorted DH clothes and eliminated one large bag for the garbage and a few items into chest of drawers where he can find them. Going to go through a pile of jeans and toss several pair, mend a few and a few pass on to yard sale box. Feeling really positive with this challenge.
July 16: Saturday and to market didn't get goal met today... will think on this tomorrow - son;t know if I want to add any to day of rest ...will see....made a note for bathroom mirror to remind me of this goal each day
July 17 Sunday and trying to get caught up - emptied one section in kitchen cupboard
hard work for me - dishes are heavy when I have a weight limit.
Neuropathy is really causeing pain and pin prickles -today.
July 17: Sunday nd quiet day but did remove one box of stuff from office and placed where it belongs or garbage.
July 18: sorted one box of clothes - some to closet, some to winter clothing tub and 5 items to garbage - getting too big fo me and don't want to hold them on with safety pins!!!
July 19: Market so no time or energy. I think I should have planned this better.
July 20: Wednes. one more box out
July 21 & 22 - made up for yesterday - got three boxes out of one bedroom, two out of the kitchen and working on one more from the office area today
July 23,24,25 out of town to visit daughter - be sure I only purchase NEEDED items in shopping time with her --- no sillies or "take more space --- emphasize shopping for good health diet we are both working on. Be sure to be mindful of food choices.
July 26 Still in recovery mode from trip with daughter but managed to get suitcase emptied and put away and also grocery purchases and counting that as positive ...also no Wt gain!!!!
July 27 - cleared top of table I use as a desk and only put back on necessary items - use it or toss it mode worked real well
July 28 - worked a few minutes in adult daughter's room - clearing the room a bit for her visits "back home" and refilled her bottled water and snack basket - looks pretty.
July 29 - emptied a box in the bedroom and found my three denim skirts I have not worn for years and they fit!!!! So excited!!! So cleared a box and found treasure.
July 30 - gone from home all day with Market and family gathering - came home to rest and no cleaning efforts today but decision to toss the shirt I wore today because it is too big and not good enough to pass on to Goodwill. Feels good to make those decisions!!!
July 31 End of the month a nd end of me working on this challenge in a reportable way - On To August challenges nd goals. Only partially successful but grew in awareness of needs and confirmation of the need to keep working on this aspect of out home.

How Often I Will Track: every day its hard for me to get my water in so adding one more will be a huge Challenge for me but oh how much better I will feel even if its only a a half glass of water. like the goodie idea too to a new friend .here doing the challenge .

MY choice for - Lord, Give Me Just One More: One more minute of fitness each day. (This will really be a tough one for me - I hate exercise!!) And send one Spark Goodie to a friend each day!!


How Often I Will Track: Daily


July 11: Sent 3 Spark Goodies today. Walked up and down the stairs for one minute. (This was huge for me!!!)

July 12: Sent 2 Spark Goodies today. Went to IKEA with the kids and walked the whole store. About 30 minutes!!! Then did 2 minutes on the stairs...up and down with a bad knee...But I did it!!

July 13: Sent 1 Spark Goodie today. I am now playing Pokemon Go with my kids. We walked quite a bit today. My game tracker says 4.4 km!!! (I need to convert that to miles).

July 14: Heading out with DS #2 for more PokemonGo! game-play. Sent 3 Spark Goodies today!!

July 15: PokemonGo! at a local mall today. I planned on 30 minutes - then went for 5 more! Also sent 4 Spark Goodies, today.

July 16: Pokemon walking/catching today with the kids - 45 minutes!! 2 Spark Goodies sent

July 17: Pokemon walking/catching today with the kids 45 minutes!! 2 trips up and down the steps for an extra 2 minutes (see below about the difficulty) 1 Spark Goodie sent

July 18: 1 Spark Goodie sent

July 20: I missed logging a few days due to some sad news: My oldest son and his wife had a miscarriage. It was the first child/first grandchild. But today, I am actually dragging my own laundry up and down the step. I have been unable to do this due to my knee pain (needing a bilateral knee replacement but the ortho won't touch me until I've lost at least 50 pounds) and needing to hold onto the bannister. But I found a mesh laundry carried like the college kids have and I can hold the banister and carry it at the same time. More trips up and down the stairs for me!! Cooking, cleaning, packing for trip to Ohio to see my ailing step mom. 4 Spark Goodies sent today!

MY choice for - Lord, Give Me Just One More: Stop Eating Potato Chips & Sweets


How Often I Will Track: Every day for 1 month.


July 11: No potato chips at all today = Yeah! However, I did have a piece of Chocolate cake. So just okay on the sweets part.


July 12: Yeah - No potato chips al all today - This is my number one give me one more. However, I did have a small bowl of ice cream. At least it is only once a day and a small amount.


July 13: Ok good thing I did not touch any potato chips again. However, I still had a small bowl of ice cream. Got some jitters about the trip Fri and the upcoming surgery.


July 14: No potato chips today. Handled the sweets too. May not be posting until I get back, but will be working this challenge.


July 15: No potato chips today. OK on sweets too.


July 16: No potato chips today. OK on sweets too.


July 17: No potato chips today. OK on sweets too.


July 18: No potato chips today. Had sweets today.

Lord, Give Me Just One More – A Hot Summer Challenge – July 11 thru August 8

What better time to get something you have meant to work on under control. The best way is to take it one day at a time and let the Lord help you through each day. As the Scriptures teach us: “I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me.” Philippians 4:13, is the only way to get something we struggle with under control.

First, you pick what you are struggling with:

One more glass of water.
One more crunch.
One more minute of exercise.
One more mile.
One more squat.
One more rep or pound in your set for strength training.
One more day of eating healthy.
One more day of not eating potato chips (this will be mine).

Second, you pick how often you need to do this (i.e. one day, one week, once three times a week).

Third, you pray each morning for God to strengthen you to do this.

Fourth, report on the forum at Keep Walking With Jesus how you are doing. I will have a form in the forum you can copy, paste and edit or you can create your own.

Fifth, encourage others as they report their progress.

It will be interesting to see how we all do at the end of the 30 days.

Robin (JRT_2015) gave me the idea of one more and I built on that idea. Thanks Robin.

Last challenge we got our sneakers sparking, this time let us get one thing we struggle with under control. Let’s corral that wild thing that has been driving us crazy. Time to close the gate on this one. As John Wayne said, "Courage is being scared to death - and saddling up anyway.” Let’s get ready to saddle up and face our fears.
