Back to tracking now and planning a very strict plan for Nov 6-19 I have never succeeded in using a menu and specific plan like the one planned with a support group on facebook but will continue with my Spark teams as well.

Not sure whats up with me the last couple of days. I have been tracking, OH I been tracking my fingers are smoking from the typing. I gained back what I lost. HATE that. I have to change my ticker tape to a gain for an up! At least I tracked it. There was a time I had a couple of reasons I would not track. 1. I was giving in for awhile to wrong decisions. 2. I was having a certain feeling inside about others thoughts of me because of over eating so I would not track. I am in this challenge and intend to continue, as was said before , the good the bad and the ugly and that is what I am doing. I will continue to track! Have a wonderful day all! emoticon

PS My dad was murdered at this time of yr about 18 yrs back. I still fight depression each yr at this time. I learned this from my journal other wise I may have never known it.

emoticon When I write it down it shows my eyeballs how much! Where if I don't write it I can't see it and I think my brain may not register it. I may not like what it looks like but I am tracking it just the same. I tracked all my meals since the last I checked in with the group. I checked in on Tuesday, October 11, 2016. Since the start of this challenge, I have tracked every day and every bite. A bite of a chocolate chip cookie; tracked! I can see where I am having problems.

Everything tracked yesterday. BUT lol all wasn't as healthy as it could have been. I had a whopper from burger king. Plain, no condiments , I did have lettuce,tomato onion,pickle. Those things are crazy high on calories. I did enjoy it with some fries. TRACKED! I use to would ovoid tracking because of the high cal. I am tracking all NO cheating. I must face myself. It is time for that now. I am not perfect and will not be until Jesus gives me that glorified body. I pray we continue to excel in this area of obedience to track. I hope I don't make anyone upset by what I have written. This is my heart, my thoughts for me, if another see it this way praise God . If it is not for you then follow what is given to you. Have a blessed day!

I feel the tracking is very beneficial. My hard time with it is balancing . I either go over in carbs or no where near my protein intake. It's all good. I am working at it and that is what matters. I do most of the time feel satisfied with what I am measuring and tracking. I think I may have been trying to do many changes at once and then would slip because... I tell myself if what I have measured doesn't satisfy I can get more. I try to give time for the food to settle and I haven't been going back for 2nds as much. One more thing I am looking to God everyday whole heart. emoticon

I still have tracked everyday, but not everything. Got to say this stress is getting to me, but I am still with it and that is important. I am not giving up. Back on track today. At least I will try.

I have tracked every day, but not everything. Need to get back on track. Have had a very stressful month so far. I don't expect it to get better for a while so I need to put my health up front right now.

Tracked every day since Oct 1st. Saturday and Sunday I had too much fat and not enough carbs and fiber. I'm sure it's because I didn't eat enough veggies and fruit!

I'm sorry I haven't posted the last couple days, but I have been tracking!! The good, the bad, and the ugly. I even tracked the reese's peanut butter cup I ate (200 wasted calories!). I also found out I have severe oseteoporosis, which was kind of a slap in the face. So I have to start getting injections for that. I'm taking Calcium and Vitamin D along with other vitamins. I need to be careful to eat more calcium in my diet as well.

emoticon to hear about your daughter. I hope things get straight soon! Glad to hear you are tracking too.

I got almost everything in yesterday, what I missed wasn't too much. I am pretty sure I stayed in range but I know I am not balanced. At it today and studying the nutrition tracker for what is needed to not just stay in range but get the right nutrients. It would be easy if I just stayed with what the plan offers but I haven't what is on the list. I do want to get things in that will help to get things tracked a little easier. My family doesn't like celery.... So it will be just for me but I really need AND WANT oh how I have wanted this for so long and ....Have a terrific weekend all emoticon emoticon emoticon

Great job all. I have tracked everyday, but the last 2 not completely. My daughter just sold her house and bought another. The house she sold closed yesterday, but the house she bought is having issues. It is a big mess. She has a 12 month old baby and my very sick son is living with her and that makes it even worse. I live in a small apartment so they can't stay with me. They are staying in a temp place, but as soon as they got there the water had problems. No water! This has been a very difficult time. Suppose to be ironed out by Tues.

Doing pretty good with this challenge so far. I have hit and missed for so long I guess it has just built determination because I am tracking and will not stop! As I heard or read put it all down there: the good ,bad, and ugly. I am noticing I am more thoughtful of what I am putting in this body. I also Have been telling myself when I want something not needed, I think my name and say just give this one thing up it's only one thing. I do this repeatedly as needed and I guess I think I am only giving one thing instead of a number of things. lol

I did too but I tracked it anyway and so should you. No wonder my blood sugar was so high this morning. The only thing we can do is learn from our mistakes and keep going. I am having a terrible problem with chocolate. For some reason, I can't stop myself from eating. I was about ready to find a mental health group for overeater anonymous. I keep going over my fat limit as well as my calories and carbs. It helps to know that I am not the only one.

Had a bad day yesterday. Went over my calorie limit, and when it became apparent that that was going to happen, I stopped tracking. I didn't want to see it written down. I felt bad enough that I was doing it to myself. Will make today better with God's help.

I have tracked for 4 days now. I have tracked everything. Since I have been doing this for awhile I worked out most of the issues I had by not staying in the recommended categories. I have done that well for the last 4 days.

I feel you pain Terri. I had that problem with potato chips. I would run around in circles every time I wanted those chips. It takes about 2 weeks to wean yourself of a particular bad habit. It was rough for the first 2 weeks and I didn't do 100% in that time. I have now controlled that bad habit. For me, I just had to find other things to keep me busy when those cravings hit. I started a puzzle that is 1000. I used that too, and running in circles, every time I had a craving. Also drink lots of water when the craving hits. All this helped me. Hope this is helpful to you.

I'm doing the Marathon Meal Deal Sports Challenge For October!

These are my problems. I track my food and at the end of the day I find that I have consumed 3 pieces of chocolate, ice cream, or something else that I know I shouldn't have. I've tried waiting for 20 minutes sometimes 30 and I just feel hungry. I can eat anything but it's the chocolate that I crave. Until I have it I just keep eating. I do stay under 1700 calories but my fat content is way above what it should be. I read all the time what I should do to stop it but it doesn't stop. Any suggestions! Today I brought 4 pieces of fruit to work. I am going to eat them every time I want some chocolate.

I went to be super early and was too tired to post, but I tracked everything and stayed in my calorie limit yesterday! I also ordered some vitamin supplements from Amazon to help fill in the gaps where I'm not eating the right things to get all my vitamins. If I hadn't been tracking and running that report at the end of the day, I'd never have known how lacking my vitamin intake was, so this has been really helpful to me already!

Oct 26 finally back on course - recorded all foods - this was a simi-fasting day -- met goal of keeping it under 600 calories
Oct 25th Oh my goodness this challenge really got neglected - vacation the 7th through the 20th and no routine to the eating like usual at home - did make wise choices most of the time but no recording like I thought I would do.

Oct 5 - traced all foods - keeping total calories in top limit but didn't do my fasting day today.
Oct 4 - tracked all - staying in good calories but not in type (carb, net carb, fat, protein ,fiber)
Oct 3 - tracked all foods
Oct 2 - tracked all foods
Oct 1 - tracked all foods

I did all my meal/snack tracking and stayed within my calories, but again, my vitamin/mineral numbers were really bad. I think it may be a good idea to add a multi-vitamin.

I'm going for the marathon. I'm looking to maintain my weight, which has been holding at 127-129 for a while now. Tracking keeps me aware, and even though I'm switching my focus to increasing my fitness I still need to record my intake. I've had some life challenges in the last several months, and don't want to go down the weight gain path while I work through things.

Day1 was great for me, recorded all three meals and two snacks, and I was within my calorie range (1200-1500). Worked on my food plan for the week, next week has unknowns since I am starting a new job, and don't know what options I have for food. I will pack a cooler on Monday and eat in my car if necessary. Since the weather is not too hot I can pack some ice in the cooler and keep lunch cool. By Tuesday I will know my options.

I was able to track everything today, and it actually came out with encouraging results--I stayed within my calorie limits, praise God! The nutrition report that I ran at the end of the day, however, showed that I'm WOEFULLY short of many vitamins, so I'm gonna keep an eye on that, and if it continues, I'll definitely be adding a multivitamin/mineral to my daily program.

I'm taking the Marathon Meal choice. I have a bad habit of tracking everything...even if I'm over for the day. I just keep going. I guess, the good thing is that at least I'm tracking! But, this month, I'm committing to NOT going over my daily limits. And DD (age 17) and I are committing to only eating out 1 TIME per week this month!!! We are challenging ourselves to save the money difference so we can take a trip when she graduates from HS in May of 2017. Being more healthy and a lower weight will make that trip even more fun for us.

I will also be doing the marathon. I use to track every day except the weekends then I quit the every day. I need to get back on track. I found an old notebook that I used to track meals and will start using it if I can't get to the computer. I do have the app on my phone so I have no excuse. I am supposed to be doing this for my doctor. Great challenge.

Going to commit to tracking every day the month of October - I will be away from computer some of the days of vacation but will keep food and amounts and times in a notebook and transfer it to computer - advantage of the tracker is the ability to go backward from today 's date to record so can fill in the gaps. But will be a challenge to get it every day as I usually only get about half of my days recorded.

I am going to do the marathon. I have a pretty good track record of recording my food and drinks. However, depression has reared it's ugly head for a few weeks and I have fallen off the bandwagon. I am going to jump into it tomorrow and get back to watching what I eat and recording everything. I think for the first week of October, I am going to just focus on recording what I eat. Then, for the 2nd and 4th weeks of October, I will really try to stay below 1800 calories a day and make sure I have enough protein, which I always lack. The 3rd week of October, I will merely focus on recording my food as much as possible. That is the week of Pumpkin Show (www.pumpkinshow.com), and I will be eating tons of food and walking several miles a day!

I will be doing the Marathon. I have already been using the Food Tracker here at Sparkpeople and have really learned a lot of what I was doing wrong. I try to stay within the range they show for fat, protein, carbs, fiber etc. I also make sure I get to the minimum in each category. The hardest for me has been fiber. So important in weight loss and health but an area many don't get enough of. It has become like a game to me and I look forward to meeting my goals through the food tracker. It has helped me eat healthier. I also hate to put down bad foods that I consume. But I made a commitment to put it all down, the good, the bad and the ugly. I have been consuming way less bad and ugly foods and more good foods since I started this.

Meal Deal Sports Challenge

From now until the end of October, select from the list below and track your meals. The holidays are coming up sooner than later and this will give you a head start on controlling weight gain that many experience during the holiday season.

If you want to improve on something, you need to track your progress, and determine where you are going wrong and right. I have been recording my food intake for about a week now and it was an eye opener. I can start to see why I am not losing weight.

You can make recording eating habits into a kind of sport. Having objective numbers to chase on a daily basis can make dieting almost like a game. You are competing with yourself.

As always, don’t eat too few calories. This is dangerous to your health too. Check with your doctor if you need to know how many calories a day you should consume to stay healthy.

Sprint Meal Deal – Commit to tracking one meal a day. This will get you into the habit of tracking what you eat.

5K Meal Deal – Commit to tracking two meals a day or just your snacks. This will reveal even more about what you are eating.

Marathon Meal Deal – Commit to tracking all meals and snacks. Use this information to fine tune what you are eating during the day. A real eye opener.

After you have selected your Meal Deal Sports Challenge, check into our forum and let us know what you find out. Share your mistakes and successes as it will help others too.
