One thing I'm working hard on is to not hide food and eat it while I'm alone. After everyone else was in bed, the late night munching would begin. Now, I snack in front of Paul and try to make better choices. (The hidden treat happens once in a while.)

I remember once asking a friend of mine to come over and watch me throw away all the junk - thinking that would keep me from digging it out of the trash. I was wrong!

In our obsession/addiction, we will do ANYTHING sometimes to get that FIX!!!

No, Dee! You are NOT alone in doing that! If there is something I want to make sure I don't eat and I put it in the trash, I make sure I mix it up with cat litter!!!

This one makes me think that there's always someone who is experiencing or has experienced the same thing I'm going through. This is very sad to admit, but I have thrown food away in a package to avoid eating it and dug it back out later. (Gross, I know.) Am I alone? No, I've seen other people post that they have done it too. Now, I shake the item out of the package so there's no way to retrieve it.

Yesterday, I took a chance and called a friend to go swimming with me. She was available and willing to go.

I say yell, shout, scream, whisper, talk, vent... whatever you need at the time. We're all in this together!

First time posting to this topic so thought I'd note on each one:

E - Want to prevent health risks involved with being obese. Plus I really hate the word OBESE, so don't want to be identified as OBESE--which I am right now!

A - I do access Spark Daily--Keeping track of my meals is so very helpful in weight loss--one of the things I know works

S-This is a tough one. So what I'm trying to do is look at what I did good for the day. Yesterday it was walking to work and back. 30 minutes each way!

Y-Here's another hard one. Always been independent and don't want to rely on others for something I've done to myself. But know that reading posts gives me inspiration.

So, I've put off doing the hardest one till last! Being the great procrastinator that I am, that shouldn't surprise anyone!!

E - Examine your reasons for wanting to lose weight

My MAIN reason for wanting to lose weight is to be able to have a better quality of life! I want to be able to move and walk and climb stairs. I want to feel confidence in myself and how I present myself. I want to be off as many medications a possible. I want to be able to sit in a restaurant booth. I want to be able to sit in any chair and not be afraid it will break under me.

OK! I've done the "easy" ones! Time to examine the harder ones!

I am working really hard on this one! I am certainly harder on me than anyone else!

It is very counter-productive! When I am beating myself up - it actually works in reverse! I don't feel good about myself and I want to take those feelings away by eating!!!

So, POSITIVE self-talk only allowed!!!!

I regret that I let my healthy lifestyle slip all winter. I've gained back most of my weight. However, I can't change the past. I love the information about not starting over, but picking up and moving forward.

This is my new mantra (from the Mind Over Body Challenge):

Y - Yell when you need help!

This is a bad one for me! OK, I'm going to let it all hang out here - so judge me as you will!!!

I am afraid to call for help because as a leader of this team I feel I should be "above" that! I shouldn't put myself in the situation of having call for help! I'M supposed to be the one setting the good example!

And besides, it's embarrassing.... emoticon emoticon *sigh*

So, having said that, I need to turn it around! I'm still practicing my "I" statements!

I will call for help when I am having difficulties such as being down emotionally or getting into dangerous ground with my food.

I will not allow the perfectionist in me to refuse calling for help.

I will do what I need to do for ME, because I'm no good to the team if I'm not working my plan either!!!

A. Access SP daily!!!

This one is easy (no pun intended!) for me! After I get my exercise in, I want to log it into my tracker - so SP is one of the FIRST things I do!!! I just logged in for 101 days straight! Looking forward to continuing this streak!!!
