I used the spibelt in half marathon today. I put three gus, package of clif shot bloks in it. Then I had a Nathan's detachable pouch with cell phone, tylenol, chapstick, face moisturizer/sunscreen and ipod.

Worked well. Also I was able to pin my bib onto it so I had no trouble with layers.

My aunt gave me a spibelt for Christmas. I wore it on my long run Saturday and it worked great. I fit two gus, a cell phone, and clif shot bloks in it with no problem. Plus it never bothered me during the run but there was some negotiating to get the items out at times.

That's a great idea to put the phone inside a ziploc and then into the pouch! I haven't run with my phone but there are some long runs when I think it would be a good idea.

I believe now Spibelt has a waterproof one, but not exactly which way the waterproofing works....I carry my cellphone in a plastic ziplock bag when I do carry it when I run.

I have a spibelt and as far as keeping things dry, no, not really...if you sweat, you sweat and stuff will get wet. I carried a camera in it at Boston and a camera and my phone at Nike and while they work great for carrying things, stuff will get wet with sweat. for just carrying gels, keys and stuff they really are decent.

I have a Spi Belt. My running group gave it out as one of their "perks" We got the road ID to go with it. I love it because I can carry my gels and car key in it. During the summer that was important because I was often very far behind the group due to my injury. I didn't want anyone else to be responsible for my keys and have to wait around for me. It is comfortable, believe it or not..

I even bought an addition SPI pocket to go on the belt. Therefore, I now have to pouches on 1 belt.

(i don't have either but i think the spibelt was the 'original'. like a lot of girls i know have spibelts and they seem really happy with them.

i have a nathan 10k elite waist pack which is more like a fanny pack.)

Quick question- Does anyone have a iFitness belt or Spibelt? I am putting it on my Christmas list and wasn't sure which was preferable. I think the iFitness ones are larger but do they both keep things relatively dry? Any advice? Thanks! (I also posted this in the marathon message boards so sorry if you're seeing this twice)
