1. I'd love to lose inches (:

2. Right now I'm a student on summer leave so honestly I've been doing spare work here and there, nothing consistent (including my sleep schedule). So I'm trying to get back into exercising before the summer is over.

3. Yes, nutrition is a challenge. More portion control though, I know how to make smarter choices just not smaller potions.

4. I'm not really sure what kind of exercise would be the best for me. I'm being tested for joint problems so I can't do a lot of vigorous activity. I do enjoy biking and swimming though.

5. In the next 6 weeks I hope to have greater self confidence. Especially as I'm transferring to a new college where I don't know anyone.

6. I would love to have a partner. I'm kind of alone here. My family isn't on board :/

Im glad we have some last minute joiners! Im getting everything around today and will send out an email tonight. I think based on responses I am going to have a couple groups and each will either be focusing on morning workouts, nutrition or just exercising in general. I know we are all different so I wanted to make sure the challenge helps you and brings you closer to your goals. And we are also all different levels of fitness so I will put that into consideration also!

Thanks!
Andrea

1. Do you want to lose weight or inches? (or you don't care as long as you lose something :) I would like to lose some inches. Keeping the weight would be fine as long as it's fat turning into muscle.

2. Would you be interested in getting up before work to get your workout in? I work night shift, so anytime I work out is usually before I get up for work.

3. Do you find nutrition to be a challenge? Yes. I have good intentions, but fast food is my weakness.

4. Do you like cardio, strength training or yoga/pilates the best or do you have equal amts of all of them in your schedule? I have more cardio right now as I'm training for a 10k, but I want to make it a more balanced plan.

5. What is a non-scale victory you would like to accomplish in the next 6 weeks? Run a 5k distance without walking.

6. Would you like to have a partner or are you ok solo and checking in with the group? I think either way would work.

One Step at a Time

Hey guys! Hope I'm not too late for this!

1. Do you want to lose weight or inches? (or you don't care as long as you lose something :)
I would love to lose both!

2. Would you be interested in getting up before work to get your workout in?
Possibly. My work schedule is kind of all over the place and changes from week to week, so I just work out whenever I can (morning or evening).

3. Do you find nutrition to be a challenge?
Somewhat. I love eating healthy foods and cooking healthy at home, however, I find the real struggle to be when I go out with my friends and they eat unhealthy foods (nachos, wings, burgers) and drink a lot of alcohol.

4. Do you like cardio, strength training or yoga/pilates the best or do you have equal amts of all of them in your schedule?
I mostly do cardio and mix in some strength training here and there. I also do enjoy yoga though, and am definitely willing to try pilates!

5. What is a non-scale victory you would like to accomplish in the next 6 weeks?
I would like to feel stronger and be able to run faster and longer by the end of the summer. Currently working on my C25K running program.

6. Would you like to have a partner or are you ok solo and checking in with the group?
I'm ok either way! Not too picky!

I hope I'm still not late joining this challenge.
My answers:
1. Do you want to lose weight or inches? (or you don't care as long as you lose something :)
= Lose weight! When I reach my goal, I will check on my inches :D

2. Would you be interested in getting up before work to get your workout in?
= Yes!

3. Do you find nutrition to be a challenge?
= Not quite, I think I do right with handling what goes into my body. It's the tracking nutrition officially online is hard as so hard to find our local food in the list and most food, I don't prepare them (not a good cooker).

4. Do you like cardio, strength training or yoga/pilates the best or do you have equal amts of all of them in your schedule?
= I like both - cardio + strength/pilate :D I usually combine both in a workout.

5. What is a non-scale victory you would like to accomplish in the next 6 weeks?
= to get better sleep, I'm having problem with getting full rested body and mind.

6. Would you like to have a partner or are you ok solo and checking in with the group?
= I'm ok with doing solo and checking frequently with group :D

Hey! I am so ready to BRING IT! I have been dealing with craziness in my life, and so my dedication has lacked, but I am ready to step it back up!

1. Do you want to lose weight or inches? (or you don't care as long as you lose something :)

Don't care as long as I lose something!

2. Would you be interested in getting up before work to get your workout in?

Morning workouts are what work best for me and my family, so yes!

3. Do you find nutrition to be a challenge?

This is my biggest challenge! I know it's one of the most important things, but I'm an emotional eater and when the going gets tough I always turn to food. It's more frustrating now that I recognize it, but hopefully the next step is to stop it when I know it's coming.

4. Do you like cardio, strength training or yoga/pilates the best or do you have equal amts of all of them in your schedule?

Cardio is my favorite, but I'm willing to add strength training in, I just need to get more familiar with what to do, it's easy to hop on the treadmill or take a walk, and then I'm moving without much thought, but I will have to put more effort into strength training.

5. What is a non-scale victory you would like to accomplish in the next 6 weeks?

I did really awesome at the beginning of the year right after I had my baby, I bought a few new things, now one blue shirt is too uncomfortable to wear, I would like to be able to bring it back into my rotation of clothes. :)

6. Would you like to have a partner or are you ok solo and checking in with the group

I would like to have a partner, someone to tweet at or check in with when I'm heading out to the gym or had a great day. Right now I use @sparkpeople and they are great, but a person would be better, if anyone is interested.

Please take responsibility for the energy you bring into this space!

1. Do you want to lose weight or inches?

I'd like to lose both. Slow and steady with consistent effort.

2. Would you be interested in getting up before work to get your workout in?

I believe I can manage that or atleast exercising in the morning hours before noon hits.

3. Do you find nutrition to be a challenge?

Yes and no.

4. Do you like cardio, strength training or yoga/pilates the best or do you have equal amts of all of them in your schedule?

I like a combination of all. Strength is dominant, cardio is the warm up, and yoga/tai chi/ pilates is apart of a cool down or general wellness routine.

5. What is a non-scale victory you would like to accomplish in the next 6 weeks?

Maintaining proper nutrition, and eating enough calories to be able to safely do my strength training workouts and to aid in the recovery process.

6. Would you like to have a partner or are you ok solo and checking in with the group?

A partner would be fun. I may include another friend to see if they want to join.

Ok thanks for signing up everyone! I'm going to get started on working with the challenge. I'm going to keep it simple and hopefully fun and we can interact with each other and help stay motivated. The challenge will start 7/27/14 and run until 8/6/14.

It's just taking 6 weeks to really focus on exercise and nutrition to make the most of the rest of the summer so we can look good in our jeans! :)

Hi, I would like to participate!

1. Do you want to lose weight or inches? (or you don't care as long as you lose something :)

I guess I'll say inches, although really my goal is just to bring more activity into my life, and whatever my body decides to do about that is cool.

2. Would you be interested in getting up before work to get your workout in?

No to maybe. I'm not a morning person!

3. Do you find nutrition to be a challenge?

Oh my yes.

4. Do you like cardio, strength training or yoga/pilates the best or do you have equal amts of all of them in your schedule?

Cardio is my favourite.

5. What is a non-scale victory you would like to accomplish in the next 6 weeks?

Doing something "active" at least three times per week.

6. Would you like to have a partner or are you ok solo and checking in with the group?

For this one I think I would prefer solo and checking in with the group. I would probably make a bad partner since my internet access is somewhat sporadic.

1. Both would be great.
2. I'm currently trying to get my butt moving before noon, but it's a challenge. Also, I'm not sure if this is relevant, but I'm from Germany, so in a different timezone than most of you.
3. I'm currently doing very good as far as nutrition is concerned.
4. I'm currently doing cardio and a bit of strength training. I like yoga, but I'm not comfortable joining a class right now because of my low overall fitness.
5. I'd like for my clothes to fit better.
6. A partner would be great, but I could also do it solo.

1. Do you want to lose weight or inches? (or you don't care as long as you lose something :)
2. Would you be interested in getting up before work to get your workout in?
