Signs you are out-frugaling your parents:
You donít use dryer sheets, and maybe not a dryer.
Your kid doesnít know chocolate milk existed outside of school lunch, and your kid is 26.
Meatless Millenium, take that Meatless Monday.
You use the flatware mom purchased with Green Stamps.

What have you got to add?

All but #2 & 4 apply to my growing up as my folks went through the depression. And I can make shampoo last 4 times longer than anyone I know!

26/30... Love the list. Thank you. One I could take off the list is sneaking in the snacks to the movies. I used to do that, but I can't tell you the last time I went to a matinee, and don't plan to go in the future. Movies are much too expensive these days.

My grandmother also reused wrapping paper. As a kid, the most frustrating lesson in patience was having to wait while grandma carefully cut open her Xmas gift so she could save the wrapping and ribbon (She was the eldest so got to open her gift first). As we got older, we stopped using tape on her gift emoticon

My grandmother always re-used wrapping paper, and saved all string and rubber bands.

My father used to tell me that "It's better to go to bed hungry than wake up in debt." We had a wind up set-back thermostat back in the 50s. I remember the egg timer to time showers, and making long distance calls after 11 at night. Dad said we weren't cheap but thrifty, a good Scottish trait.

The mention saving twist ties, but I don't see any mention of a string ball..... My mother was famous for her string ball.....

emoticon for sharing this!

I had a hard time not laughing because that list sounds just like most of everything that I grew up with. Especially #29 and 30.

How many of these apply to you? For me it's 21 thanks to my parents and all my grandparents. I have especially fond memories of #20.
