Moreso, its limiting ingredients. Im interested because I use a very small refrigerator. And have limited pantry space by western standards.

Left to my own devices, Id have eight types of dried or canned beans, three rices, multiple veggies that Id wind up making soup out of since I forgot about them.

Simply controlling those categories, I can cut my spending considerably.

I'm on a low carb diet & clear my pantry of non-eatable stuff. Of course, I live alone, so I can do that.

You likely have heard of or are using a capsule wardrobe in some fashion.

How about a capsule pantry?
Read on and see if youd consider streamlining your ingredients.

Im challenging myself to limit my ingredients (as I have so many condiments and sauces) to 30 separate ingredients for a months worth of meals.

My master list is 28 items.

Eight canned goods/ dry goods:
Tomatoes
Black beans
Kidney beans
Chickpeas
Chipotles in adobo
Green chilies
Coconut milk
Tahini

Three Grains:
Brown basmati rice
Quinoa
Whole wheat orzo (if I find it. no biggie if I dont)

Four frozen items
Spinach (because I already have it)
Berries
Pineapple
Mango

Fresh is 13 items
Tofu
Salad greens
Greens for cooking
Chilies
Sweet peppers
Carrots
Cucumber
Celery
Tomatoes
Mushrooms
Green beans
Two snacking fruits

Non counted extras
All condiments already in the house
garlic, onion and limes as flavor enhancers
I have two types of wheat flour, besan flour, and the associated powders for baking. Not counting them as they are just for a batch of birthday cookies.
Spices and herbs
Tea. Im limiting to three in rotation this month. But I have so much I need to use up.
