-Walked someone down to where they were looking for instead of just pointing and giving directions

1- kids get free lunch at park, so we walked
2- needed to go to library, so we walked
3- time to kill in between, so we played tennis
4- rackets and books needed transport, so I carried a backpack
5- kids occupied with movie in bedroom, so I used living room TV to do Wii Fit
6- some of my exercise equipment was buried under boxes in garage, so I lifted boxes to get it out
7- stability ball was deflated for move, so I pumped it by hand(my aching arms!)
8- daughter had end of season pizza party for t-ball, so we walked

2- sent kids to park and spent time alone to do one of the DVDs I found

BLC 13 Week 5 All-Team Challenge
EXTRA FITNESS OPPORTUNITIES
Monday 06/21 to Sunday 06/27

This week's challenge is all about finding opportunities to get in extra bursts of movement.
All those extra steps add up to help us meet our weight loss goals.

Here are some examples of ways to add some extra "burn" to your day:
Pace around! Get up and move around when you're talking on the phone or brushing your teeth.
Meet outdoors! Need to discuss an idea with a coworker - take a lap around the building.
Park further away! In a shopping center, park once in the center of the lot and walk from store to store and back to the car as needed.
Drive away from the drive-thru. Go inside stores, banks, pharmacies or restaurants instead for a fitness boost and to save gas.
Move and shake! Dance to the car radio, get up at work as often as you can to get water, make copies, or to get or give information from coworkers.
Make cleaning fun! Put on some high energy music and make the vacuum your dance partner.
Take the stairs! Move yourself up instead of using an escalator or elevator.
Carry a basket! Put your healthy foods into a basket and carry that in the store instead of pushing a shopping cart.
Get moving early! Start your day with some stretches or a few rounds of yoga sun salutations.
Take a walk! Get lost getting your mail - take a walk around the block before picking up your mail.
Ride your bike! If you can walk or bike somewhere instead of driving - do it!
Potty break challenge! Every time you go to the bathroom, do 10 wall push-ups or 10 squats or 10 side bends, etc.
Use wait time wisely! Watching your child's soccer practice and just sitting on the bleachers? Grab another parent and walk around the field or the parking lot to get in some activity for yourself, too!

These are just a few ideas! There are lots of other ways to add in activity. Be creative!

Monday Opportunities:
Walked back and forth of the grocery store twice. (only 1 item was needed)
Did 30 jump and jacks during commercials while watching tv

Tuesday Opportunities:
Jumped on the trampoline with daughter
walked to get dogs instead getting the car
10 leg lunges while talking to a friend outside

Wednesday Opportunities:
Park at the furthest park space at library
Walked around library reading instead of sitting.

BLC 13 Week 5 All-Team Challenge
EXTRA FITNESS OPPORTUNITIES
Monday 06/21 to Sunday 06/27

This week's challenge is all about finding opportunities to get in extra bursts of movement.
All those extra steps add up to help us meet our weight loss goals.

Here are some examples of ways to add some extra "burn" to your day:
Pace around! Get up and move around when you're talking on the phone or brushing your teeth.
Meet outdoors! Need to discuss an idea with a coworker - take a lap around the building.
Park further away! In a shopping center, park once in the center of the lot and walk from store to store and back to the car as needed.
Drive away from the drive-thru. Go inside stores, banks, pharmacies or restaurants instead for a fitness boost and to save gas.
Move and shake! Dance to the car radio, get up at work as often as you can to get water, make copies, or to get or give information from coworkers.
Make cleaning fun! Put on some high energy music and make the vacuum your dance partner.
Take the stairs! Move yourself up instead of using an escalator or elevator.
Carry a basket! Put your healthy foods into a basket and carry that in the store instead of pushing a shopping cart.
Get moving early! Start your day with some stretches or a few rounds of yoga sun salutations.
Take a walk! Get lost getting your mail - take a walk around the block before picking up your mail.
Ride your bike! If you can walk or bike somewhere instead of driving - do it!
Potty break challenge! Every time you go to the bathroom, do 10 wall push-ups or 10 squats or 10 side bends, etc.
Use wait time wisely! Watching your child's soccer practice and just sitting on the bleachers? Grab another parent and walk around the field or the parking lot to get in some activity for yourself, too!

These are just a few ideas! There are lots of other ways to add in activity. Be creative!
