My rewards change each time I drop 10 lbs. This time I'm treating myself to a mani/pedicure at my favorite nail salon. I don't quite know yet what color I'm going to pain my nails guess I'll decide that when the time comes, lol.

I have 5 lbs to go to my next goal ! emoticon

Rewards are a great incentive. I've committed to getting a letter charm for my tiffany bracelet each time I lose 7 lbs. I have 5 letters in my name. By the time I am done spelling my name I would have lost 35 lbs well over half my goal. 3 lbs Lost this week. Tiffany's here I come!!!

Happy New You!!!

Rewards are great ideas! I am pretty much a shopaholic(for clothes)so that can not be one of my rewards. I think when I lose 10 pounds I'll call up an old friend I haven't seen and take her out to lunch(healthy,of course). And for 20 pounds hubby and I will have to go on an overnight trip somewhere~if,I mean WHEN I lose 20 pounds I'll know I'm on my way emoticon

I reward myself with date nights with my husband. We find somewhere to send the kids, cook a healthy meal, light a fire in the fireplace (when it's cold enough to do that), and curl up on the couch for a good movie. We get an evening with nobody to interrupt us but the dogs!

I just rewarded myself with a new 5lb fitness ball and resistance tubbing with handles. They were on sale for 50% percent of at work and with my staff discount, they cost me 10.60 cents for both. I used the gift card that BF got for me a christmas, so actually it cost me nothing. WooHoo!!

Unfortunately I can't tell you much about Oahu. When we go it's a 2 day, one night quick trip for shopping, dim sum for brunch and Ruth's Chris for dinner. It's been over a year since the last trip and sleepy Kauai is no comparison to Waikiki. Have tons of fun!

I haven't made any personal plans, too busy to even look up what to do, its my brother's kids that are deciding, and Maui is one place they want to go to. I am staying at Castle Ocean resort Hotel Waikiki in Honolulu, had to look this up on my trip details lol. My brother and his wife are obese and out of shape however, and I would like to take some hiking trips which I doubt they would want to do. He does want to see a crater something or other, not sure what that is. They also want to swim with the dolphins, and the kids want to horseback ride, but the adults are over the weight restrictions 225 for that. But that is planned on the last day of their trip, and I am leaving two days earlier than them as I have to get back earlier to do my month end. Any suggestions for an active vacation I would love. I can't swim though, can't get my ears under water because of delicate surgery I had on them.

I wasn't into the goal reward thing. I am a worker and just plod along day to day, and when my clothes didn't fit me anymore, got some hand me downs from my Mom, and when those don't fit not to worry unless they fall off my hips. Out of necessity, I had to get new underwear, as my 2X were falling down badly, I am a medium now. I am close to my goal and was hoping to reach it before my first vacation ever to Hawaii. I never thought of that as a goal/reward because it was spontaneous. I am going because my brother and his family are going and I never get to see them, so this will give me two weeks with them, and at Christmas, no less!

Living way out in the middle of nowhere, with WMart & KMart being the only places other than fancy pants Macy's to shop, my ultimate goal reward is a weekend trip to Honolulu. Endless shopping for new clothes. So far I've got $250 saved, so it won't be such a terrible dent in the pocket book!

Well today, I am going to reward myself with a new bra and a new pair of work pants. The ones that I bought are too big had to get them altered, what a wast of money.Oh well, I will buy one pair that I can alter myself.

I have a series of goals and rewards set up on my profile but I already know I will be adjusting them. I forgot one key reward that will be SO USEFUL!

I have to add in new bras as a reward.

My current bras are almost too big to wear and when you are wearing under a sweater or something that is more form fitting, it's rather unsightly to see all the lines and folds from my current bras. The only saving grace is the fact I have two (that's only TWO) bras that are of a size I can now wear. They were also old bras, but buried so deep in my bra drawer because... well... I couldn't wear them in the past because they were too tight and uncomfortable.

I save the fitting bras for fitted shirts, and the too big bras for the looser shirts.

Sandy

I bought 2 pairs of pants that fit me beautiful and I gained 2.5 lbs(tom).YUK!!!
Now my BF says that I owe him 100 back and feet messages for gaining weight.
I think tom shouldn't count but I will give it to him anyways just to show him.

My doctor told me as part of my new "mandatory" life alterations, I am only allowed 1 hour a day of computer and television. I set small daily rewards that if I do more than one exercise in a day, I get extra TV & computer time. Yes, I know -- doing more exercise = having less TIME to do these, but I am retired. I currently ride my bike for almost a mile in the early AM. 3 days a week I head to the Gym for Water Aerobics. I plop my grandaughter in her bug-mobile and we walk (she's 8 mos old and doesn't get it). I've just heard of a low impact aerobics class being offered and plan on attending that as well three days a week. I set a mini goal that if I am GOOD all week long and don't slack off, I will allow myself NOT to feel guilty about relaxing on the weekend.

Semi-long term rewards I have set:

-- when I hit 10 lbs, I will buy a book I have been wanting to help offset wanting to watch more TV & be on the computer more.

-- when I lose 25 lbs I am rewarding myself with the Cuisinart I have drooled over for a year or more.

-- when I get to 50 lbs, I will be allowing my hubby to reward me with a lobster dinner. Yes, I said dinner. I figure if I managed to get 50 lbs off, I deserve a small indulgence!!

I haven't set any goals beyond that. I fear greater than that would be a serious letdown and heavy anchor guilt to carry to the scale. When I hit my first 50 mark, I will sit down and make new rewards. I think (and hope and pray) that a wardrobe issue will be needed sometime around then.

As for where should you start? Take a lesson from the site!! Set up a chart where you mark how much you have lost! Make a big deal out of it!! I took a dollar store metal cookie sheet and used permanant marker to make a ruler type of thing where I can put small magnets to mark my progress. I have a picture of my book at the 10 lb mark. I have a pic of the Cuisinart at 25 lbs and I have a picture of a lobster at the 50!! I'm getting excited!! I'm almost halfway to my book!!

Find goals/rewards that are realistic. I would say a short term ideas: a new purse, painting a room you've been wanting to alter, plant flowers/shrubs to mark milestones (you'll always remember them then), buy a new pair of sneakers, etc. Make the reward/goal fit your life and lifestyle.

Remember to include others in your rewards and it makes them that much more fun to enjoy!!

I haven't really set up a reward system. My rewards are when my clothes are hanging on me and I go get a few things in smaller sizes.

I don't reward myself. Perhaps I should, but making the goal and the good feelings that come with it always seems rewarding enough.

It is hard to reward ourselves, sometime we feel we don't deserve it or need it or we are to selfished.
What ever the reason or excuse, we need to reward ourself. It helps us feel better, it give us more self esteem and it put us first for a change. You get the picture, I hope of what I am trying to say.
So whether it is a pat on your back, that you did yourself or a look in the mirror to say" Hey way to go, you did it, you are wonderful" I think is a small but powerful reward.
Hopefully this make sense, if not sorry for the rambleing, I'am having a hard day and trying to give myself a break and not beat myself up.
REad my blog later and you will understand. I hope

Hi, I'm bad as well, but promised myself the whole work (pedi, mani, hair, etc.) scheduled it for next week, b/c I haven't been able to do them individually (too much work), and since my step-daughter is getting married I'll take advantage of that to do it. Can't wait.

I am REALLY bad at coming up with rewards for myself for reaching goals. Okay, bad at coming up with them and bad at taking advantage of them. :( I told myself that I would get a pedi when I got below 200 - well, I made that goal a long time ago and still haven't gotten my pedi. I will go do that soon though!

Anyhow, I would love to get some ideas from you all about goals. My first thought after the pedi was to go out to eat somewhere and then I remembered what got me into this position in the first place! LOL I don't want to reward myself with food.

Help??

Thanks!
