I disagree ~ The same rule does not apply to non-food items like toiletries, cleaning products and household items. Buy in bulk when they're on sale. If you have the room stock up, you'll save in the long run. Report
I keep a running list on the fridge, then stick to my list when I go to the store unless I remember something that is not on the list that we really need. Report
Great tips. Thanks. Report
No more "shop the perimeter" at our local Shop Rite. They have probably gotten tired of the "shop the perimeter mantra" and are redoing it so that chips, etc. are now on the perimeter. Easy fix - don't go that far ! Report

I always make a list. I live about 25 mins from the store so I keep a list on the fridge as we run low or for a planned meal. Generally we shop the perimeter with a few exceptions like tuna or steel cut oats.

Plus if I am somewhere and something comes to mind I need I use the handy note app on the phone. Then I can just add to my list later. Report
