I recently was going to buy some frozen tilapia filets, but changed my mind when I saw the "imported from China" stamp on all the packages, given 1) the number of recent scares over Chinese imports; 2) knowing that here in the midwest, everything is flown in on ice, and it does make a difference in taste compared to what I could get living on the Pacific Coast; and 3) just how long has it taken imported fish to get here, and what assurances would I have that it was kept at a proper temperature all the way through processing, shipping, and final packing here in the U.S.? I'd like to see an article on this. For now I'm sticking with fish caught on the coasts of the U.S., as much as I can! Report
