Hi, I'm Jena, homeschooling mom to 4 very busy boys. Unfortunately, I've learned the hard way that chasing them ends up helping me put on the pounds and leads to exhaustion quickly rather than helping me stay fit or lose weight so I'm here so I can learn how to take care of me so I can take better care of them.

I'm restarting my journey again and this time there can be no going back. I'm finally where I never wanted to be, officially pre-diabetic. Add in high cholesterol and my health can no longer take a back burner to anything. A major lifestyle overhaul is now imperative and it must be permanent changes.

Numbers on 12/1/14
Weight: 208.4 doctor's scale (205.4 mine)
BP: 124/75
HR: 95 (stressed out, definitely, usually in low 80s)
Fasting Glucose: 106
Cholesterol: 277
HDL: 49
LDL: 168
Triglycerides: 298
ALT: 36

Time to make those numbers move in the right direction!

My Program:
Right now I'm following the recommendations in calories through SparkPeople and trying to eat less carbs and fat and more lean protein. I had a lot of illness and then got totally sidelined by feet injuries I allowed that to sidetrack me completely and am now working hard to make everything I do about changing the way I live my life and not a temporary thing including making time for exercise a priority and trying to fit some in whenever I can again.



Personal Information:
Married for 19yrs to my wonderful husband, proud mom to 4 wonderful boys who are all trying to see just how far past crazy they can drive me. LOL


Other Information:
I'm a homeschooling mom, an avid reader, and a crafter. I love camping with my family but my favorite vacation spot is Disneyland. I could happily live there!

    I think many of us end up putting ourselves at the bottom of the list because we want to make sure everyone and everything else is looked after. But I think we can only do that if we look after ourselves first. Today was a good day for me for doing that and I know it will be hard at times but I felt so much better knowing that I was looking out for me instead of just allowing things to happen.

    The meditation book is good so far. I tried it last night and it helped me a lot today as well with letting thoughts go. I'm almost halfway through the hormone diet book and it's interesting. I'll definitely let you know when I have finished both!
