A myriad of health problems has necessitated some huge changes in my life. As a lifelong dieter with yo-yo successes, the last time that I gained all of my weight back (and then some) I found the whole process so frustrating and demoralizing that I swore I would never do it again. When these health problems told me that I had to do something, I ran across a magazine article about two sisters who lost 373 pounds between the two of them, one step at a time.

That's my new goal. To take this lifestyle change and move toward it, one step at a time. I don't have to do take on this monumental task all at one time, I only have to do that one, first thing. And then take the next step.

Guess what! Without even looking, I found the sisters who inspired me through their Woman's World article!

Fitness Minutes: 201

My Goals:
By taking one step at a time, I will lose the entire 260 pounds that I need to lose and will be able to move without pain. I will be able to take my grandson to the zoo he loves so much and keep up with him on the walking path. I will be able to walk so that I can travel with my husband.

My Program:
A sensible eating plan that will be tracked daily on Spark People and forcing myself to take that first step in exercise. My first step will be to start with a chair exercise program and the second step will be to order walking poles that are supposed to decrease the pain of walking.

Personal Information:
My sedentary lifestyle has resulted in some pretty serious consequences. I want to live. I still want to be here to see that grandson of mine grow up. So, I have to start moving!

Other Information:
One step at a time, I can do this!
