Hey! The half went great! I finished at 2:17 which I was really happy about! I told my husband that the next goal is 2:10. emoticon
The weather was perfect besides being a little cold at the start but overall a great experience.

THANK you so much! I'm actually a little nervous which I never am before a race, but looking forward to the accomplishment! At least by then the sun will be out...I can run in the cold but wouldn't like running in the rain.
    Thanks again!

Yay!!! The Garmin will change your life! Ok, maybe not change your life, but it's so much fun to use... you'll love it! That's great that your fitness center has treadmills, even if you hate them. My favorite way to make treadmill runs somewhat enjoyable is to do pyramids:

    - Warm up 5 minutes
    - Run as hard as you can 30 seconds; Jog 30 seconds
    - Run hard 45 seconds; Jog 45 seconds
    - Run hard 1 minute; jog 1 minute
Keep doing this, adding 15 seconds to the intervals until you hit 90 seconds. Then
    - Run hard again for 90 seconds; jog 90 seconds
    - Run hard for 75 seconds; jog 75 seconds
Keep doing this, decreasing intervals by 15 seconds until you hit 30 seconds
    - 5 minute cool down

That's a 30 minute workout and it goes by fast because it's broken up into so many short intervals.

There are a few cheap gyms in the area that I've considered joining so that I'm doing something when it's cold, I'm just too cheap to commit to a gym membership when I'll just want to run outside when the weather is warmer.

Good luck with half marathon training! I can't wait to pick a race to run in the fall.

Thanks for the encouragement! I actually registered this afternoon and I'm excited! If you ever want to meet and run the bridge, give me a shout.

Hey, Niki! I'm only just now starting to get a bump. Once I actually take a picture where I don't look like death, I'll post one. :) Christmas was good to me.... but I had way too many cookies and other treats and now I'm dying for some healthy food. I haven't run in a few weeks now and I really miss it. I stopped because I'm being a big baby about the cold, but today I was so desperate I ran in place for 30 minutes in my living room. Sad, right?

How are you doing? How's life, Charleston, running?
