"It is with great sadness that the family of BFJ has to announce she has passed away." May she rest in peace.

This is an interview I did where I work. One person is chosen each month and I was chosen for the Month of November.

Do you ever wonder who is behind the voice of the switchboard operator at any town Community College? This very professional, kind, helpful, and knowledgeable voice belongs to Beulah Jackson. Beulah has accomplished a tremendous feat that many people struggle with every day. Some people try, but they never persevere and eventually give up. What is this cost worth to you? To Beulah it was her health and life. She has lost 100 pounds in the last two years with NO drugs or surgery. She lost 90 pounds within the first year, then 10 pounds this past year. She is currently at a plateau and struggles with losing any more weight, even though she periodically changes her eating and exercise. But she still perseveres, because she is determined that one day she will reach her weight loss goal.
After Beulah was married, then the pounds seemed to slowly creep on over the years. Unfortunately, with this added weight and over time, then she developed diabetes. Diabetes can take a huge toll on your overall health. Three years ago her health was failing. She decided it was high time that she make some big changes in her health due to the fact that her husband past away and she knew that she would have to be the soul care taker of herself. She knew by the way she felt that soon she would be in a Hoveround, which is an electronic chair. Her mobility was about to be snatched away from her due to her health.
Beulah knew that she had to lose weight in order to regain her health. She tried the Grapefruit diet and Cabbage soup diet with no success. One day her daughter suggested that she try This is a FREE website, which teaches people the correct ways to eat and exercise with helpful tools, which enable you to live a healthy and happy lifestyle. They also have a great support system from their online community with professional dieticians and trainers, where she can interact and chat with others who are going through the same struggles. She can also swap and get new ideas for recipes. She was able to personalize her diet and exercise program to fit her lifestyle. Her daughter also suggested that she start swimming. Her daughter has been her support and encouragement partner through her weight loss journey. She swims four days a week for 45 minutes at a time. She also does strength training, therefore, one day she does upper body and the next day lower body.
Now Beulah is taking her life back by improving her health. She currently has controlled her diabetes with diet and exercise. She swims laps. She currently can swim one lap, which is down to the end of the pool in 50 seconds flat, which is a huge accomplishment! If the college is closed, then she still keeps up her exercise program by either walking on her treadmill or riding her stationary bicycle. She also enjoys taking her dog for a walk, which is also very good for her and her dog. She also now can mow 5.5 lots with her push lawnmower. She has more energy and can out do her children now. With her weight loss, her vibrant new healthy lifestyle is shining through and touching other lives. She is a true inspiration of determination and perseverance.

To be able to walk for 5 miles, stand for 1 to 2 hours and add more and different work outs.

My Program:
Swimming for 1 hour 3 to 4 times a week, walking, uing a treadmill,and riding a stationary bike, mowing lawn, walking dog.

    Are you interested in a Challenge?

    The Biggest Loser goes for 10 weeks. It consists of 10 teams participating in weekly Fitness and Nutrition challenges. The Spring challenge will be getting started the beginning of March. It consists of fitness and nutrition challenges that are often in a form of a game. If for some reason you cannot do a challenge then they are modified to meet your needs. Often we do the challenge in a game form, we have BINGO and TIC TAC TOE or seasonally themed. For Winter we had Help Santa Fill His Sleigh, Run Rudolf Run and Super Bowl.
