Hey everyone! You can call me Kitty.

I am currently 22 and have been struggling with binge eating disorder and my weight since I was old enough to realize that I had a problem with it. I spent most of that time in the Overweight BMI range, but in the past year, after graduating from college and becoming a lot more sedentary, I have ended up Obese for the first time in my life, in terms of both BMI and abdominal obesity, which is scary for me.

I majored in biology, and I am very passionate about science, so it's no surprise that I was motivated by a nutrition class that I took in my last semester at college to try to adopt a new, healthier lifestyle. I hope that implementing what I learned in that class will help me succeed where I've failed over and over and OVER again in the past. It's disheartening to know that 90% of people regain the weight even after losing it, but helpful to know why that is, and what that lucky 10% tend to do in order to keep it off. And it's easier to forgive myself for falling off the bandwagon sometimes when I know just how much my body is fighting back against me because of the way humans have evolved to resist famine. It's fascinating stuff, and I'm hoping I can put it to good use.

-Reach 120 pounds (BMI of 21.3)
-Exercise every day
-Build muscle
-Start eating vegetables with every meal
-Learn how to control my compulsion to binge-eat in the long term
-Relieve symptoms of asthma, GERD, and other issues that can be exacerbated by obesity
-Be more confident!

My Program:
-Zigzag calorie cycling averaging out to a base of 1200 calories/day with adjustments for exercise
-60+ minutes of light-to-moderate exercise per day
-High fiber, high protein diet with special attention paid to iron and calcium needs
-Keeping up-to-date with nutrition, exercise, and weight loss studies from peer-reviewed scientific journals
