I am the heaviest I've ever been in my life. I am unhappy with that. I want to get in shape not only for the pretty, pretty clothes, but to lessen the pain from arthritis in my hip and decrease my risk of diabetes and heart disease.

I live in the Twin Cities and work for a nonprofit. I'm married with no kids, but we have two naughty kitties. I adore coffee, reading, writing, travel and taking naps. I'm a total city girl. Nothing against the suburbs, but I live in a downtown area by choice. I'm a big geek. Ask me about X-Files or Battlestar Galactica and I'll never shut up.

I LOVE cooking and food and that will never change. I try to prepare as many meals as possible from scratch. There are too many processed foods out there and very few of them are good for you. But I'm not too proud to pull out a box of veggie burgers or microwave a frozen meal when time is short, although it's definitely not my ideal. I love any and all Asian foods--Thai, Japanese, Korean, Indian, Vietnamese, Chinese, you name it... But my idea of true heaven is eating shrimp ceviche on the beach in Playa del Carmen, Mexico.

My Goals:
My ultimate goal is to be healthy and happy.


My Program:
Eat between 1300-1600 calories a day.

Cut down on refined sugar and increase whole grains.

Vegetables, fruit, vegetables!

Eat less meat.

Work out at least 3 days per week.

H2O

Enjoy cooking and eating healthily.

Still eat sushi and Thai food once in a while.

Have one "cheat meal" per week, but don't go overboard.
