So much has changed in my life since the last time I was on SP (which I'm ashamed to say was about a year ago). My husband, Brian, passed away a few months ago, and that has greatly affected me in so many ways. I miss him every day and wish he was still here. Luckily, I am the proud GiGi (grandmom) of 2 beautiful boys. My oldest daughter, her husband & their son live with me, so to say the least, we have a full house. There are 4 of us, along with 4 dogs and 3 cats...LOL. I don't mind it most days, but like everything else in life, it has its days.

I have a full life, but for far too long I've put myself last, & not really stuck to trying to live a healthier lifestyle. NO MORE!!! I've decided the best way to find more about who I am & what I want out of life is to become LESS of the person I am now & to become active & healthy.

I've struggled with my weight since I hit puberty, but the largest I'd ever been in my life was in 2009 when I weighed in at 288 lbs. It was extremely hard for me to accept I had gotten to that point, but even harder for me to comprehend that less than 5 years earlier, I was about 170 lbs. I completely broke down that day & decided something had to be done. I realized I've been trying to lose weight for over 2 decades & I knew what caused me to gain weight & what didn't, so I decided to slowly cut back on the amount I was eating & started to exercise more. I started by going to the gym 2 or 3 days/wk for 30 minutes & progressed to 5 days/wk for 1 hour. I found that exercise helped me have a better attitude & love myself more.
Sadly...I didn't stick with it. I fell into depression and just gave up. I've been through more in the last couple of years than I really want to get into, but I found myself back up to 270 lbs. I stayed the course for a few months, but with the stress of caring for my husband and the rest of my family, I put myself last again. Then with the passing of my husband, I did not care about my health or anything else. I have realized that I can't just keep going the way I've been going so I'm back and starting at square one. I've got a way to go, but I know if I keep on going I'll eventually get there.

When I get to the end of this great journey....I want my family & friends to be able to say....GIGI DISAPPEARED!!!!!

    Thanks for your comment on my page. It just seems easier to not notice God. We see problems. We see our friends. We feel things about the things we see. Like fear. Fear is a massive thing for me. I am learning that we have to wait and listen for God. And, He is ALWAYS there waiting to take us into His lovely arms and hold on tight to us. .
