Welcome! This is where I'm making myself accountable for those last 10 pounds! Or 8, or 12, depending on which day it is. It's tough because I'm tall (always the tall one in the pictures!) and so clothes hide a lot! I want to be comfortable no matter what I'm wearing. The muffin top has got to go. And with menopause fast approaching, this fight is harder than ever.

My biggest problem is my relationship with food. Somewhere along the way it became distorted and unhealthy. I've been on every diet out there, and own an embarrasing number of diet books. And yet, here I am, still unhappy with my body and my health.

This time, I have to stop talking about it, stop wishing for it, and just do it! As Jillian Michaels says "No excuses!" I need to have that tatooed on my forehead.

I'm working on clean eating rather than dieting. I'm also doing more weight training. My health is too important to keep putting this off. I suffer from migraines and I'm convinced that my eating plays a big part. And of course, the older I get, the harder this all becomes.

So I'm back to Spark for motivation and support. I've been away for a really long time, but know that I need this to keep me on track.
I can spend every day miserable about this failure, or I can change it. I choose to change it.

My Goals:
To once and for all be rid of the extra 10 pounds that I have gained and lost more times than I can count. This happens because I lose it, then go on binge-eating sprees and eventually gain it back. I want to feel comfortable in my clothes and in my skin. I want to fight the aging process and become a healthier eater, because I really believe we are what we eat.


My Program:
Eating within my range of calories most days to lose it. I'm also working very hard at learning to eat in moderation EVERY day, and to lose the diet mentality. I do cardio 3-4 times per week, and strength training 2-3 times per week.
I've given up all processed foods, eat mostly organic, and only eat meat if I know where it came from.



Personal Information:
I'm been married to a wonderul guy for 31 years, with 2 great kids, and 2 faithful dogs. I changed careers at 40 and went from accounting to teaching 4th grade! Age is just a number, and anything is possible!


Other Information:
I love to read (nerdy teacher), bike, swim and hang out with my incredible Italian family. (Thus the food problem.) I'm a "Grey's Anatomy" junkie with a minor addiction to "House". My Spark Page is a work in progress, just like me!
