Happy New Year to all my Sparkfriends :-)

"Less than one-tenth of 1% of the world's population ever dares to run a distance of a 1/2 marathon or greater."
WOW!! I'm now in that teeny-tiny percentage!!! I ran my 1st (but not my last) Half Marathon on October 11, 2008 with a time of 2:12:58!!!

MY NEXT RACE IS THE O'HARTFORD 5K ON 3/15/09!!

I'm 43 years old, a single mother of 2 and have made a commitment to make my body the best it can be!! I am in such a transition in my life right now--trying to sell my house, not sink financially before that happens and finding a new place to live. All in all, I'm happy and running relieves a lot of stress!

Brian Aselton Memorial 5K Snow Dash- 1/4-- DONE! 28:11

O' Hartford 5K- 3/15

Race for the Cure 5K-June

Greater Hartford Half Marathon- 10/10

Manchester Road Race Thanksgiving Day

MORE DATES TO BE ADDED!

I want to be a lean, mean running machine! At the same time, I'm also trying to accept me and believe that I'm good enough just as I am! What a struggle that is~

"Running is the greatest metaphor for life, because you get out of it what you put into it."

    Hi there Sweetheart
Just calling by to say welcome to your new team...40 & over, young @ heart, sassy & sexy.... Feel free to call into the team & post where you wish...this is your team too remember & being happy where we are is a big step to being happy with where we end up, if that makes sense. LOL.

Be patient with yourself Honey & enjoy the motivational articles that are posted daily on top of the teams board. The girls on the team are a great combination & all really encouraging. If you need any help or advice just drop me a line or post it on the board, whatever you prefer. Looking forward to getting to know you...have a great day & stay safe out there. Thanks for responding to my sparkpage. I have quite of bit more weight to lose than you but I am trying to run a bit. My neighbour and I are walking three times a week but I just can't seem to get motivated to take the next step to running consistently. You are almost to your goal! Keep going.....you can do it! Any words of wisdom to share on your success?

I want to thank you for joining THE JUNE BIRTHDAY CHALLENGE 2007. I know that you are going to enjoy it here. You are a runner I see, my daughter had put her name in for a 1/2 marathon for the month of March. This will be her first and she is a little nervious but excited about it. I am not a runner but a walkier. My hips won't let me run. You are doing great in the weight lose and I know that you will be an encouragement to us on the team.
Looking forward to getting to know you better during the winter months.
