I started a little over a year ago at 210 lbs. I have lost over 50 lbs and am now less than 15 lbs from my overall weight goal!

Throughout my journey I have discovered many things;
1) a strength and determination that I didnt realize I possessed
2) a passion for nutrition and fitness and helping others
3) the immense support of people from all walks of life who are traveling along this journey as well(thank you)
4) a desire to conquer dreams that I never in my life believed were reasonable.
5) that I am beautiful, worthwhile and have steel will.
I am an absolutely normal person. I have my tough days, I scrutinize my rear end in the mirror, I eat taco bell every once and a while, as if I own every share of their stock and its plummeting, I have struggled throughout my life emotionally and with my weight, I have been called fat, ugly, useless. I once felt like giving up entirely, but I did not. I have not given in and I will not!

I laugh frequently, I love whole heartedly, I cry over sappy commercials, and I DREAM big. I'm not immune to fear, but still know when to take a risk.

This is my one and only life, my one and only body and each day I have in it is a blessing I shall not take for granted. I have seen people older than me run marathons, people in wheel chairs hit the body building stage with such sheer confidence and pride (and rightfully so.) I have seen people overcome personal problems and take it out on weights to become stronger and better both inside and out than they ever were before. I have seen mothers of multiple children blow their competition out of the water with their stellar bodies. I have seen sheer will, motivation and faith and it has inspired me.

I will not settle for average. I will not only surpass others expectations of me..but my own. I will be a name to remember one day. My body will reflect how much happiness, beauty and drive lies inside of me!

I am now pursuing my personal training certification and will be a CPT by May of 2010!

By Jan 2010 I plan to have my own fitness/nutrition website in place (constructing personalized diet plans for others starting out on their fitness journeys and supplying tips, motivation and resources that I wish I'd had in the beginning of my transformation)

Once I reach my fitness goal I am planning to set a new one (haha) of 125 lbs and pursue fitness modeling.

It has always been my dream to write a memoir. So keep an eye out.

I am now a motivator and I cried like a baby when I found it. It has been the greatest motivation and success to motivate others!!

I was told by many people that I looked up to, fitness icons and role models that IIIII looked amazing!!!

My Goals:
-Lose 60 lbs for a weight of 135 (NEARLY THERE!!)

-Have a BMI of 18% (DONE 17%)

-Have a body like Vida Guerra (still working on it ;op)

My Program:
I started on weight watchers and though I think their principles on portion control are great to begin with I do not agree with a lot of their philosophies on what is "healthy."

Replacing refined sugar/starch with complex carbs, removing saturated and trans fat from my diet to the extreme! Adding healthy mono and poly fats! Lots of lean protein, plus soy and vegetarian proteins! Lots of fruits and veggies. Calorie cycling.

Eating 5-6 small meals a day

Keeping larger meals and high carb meals toward the beginning of the day and gradually decreasing calories!

*Trying* REALLY hard not to eat after 8 pm

Drinking lots of water!!

Drinking a green tea in the morning

Doing cardio 4-6x a week and strength 3-4 times a week. Proud member of Bally Total Fitness (best classes ever!)

Staying more active throughout the day, taking the steps instead of elevators, lifting the kids more, parking at the far end of the parking lot, et

Other Information:
How I Started:

I finally came to a point where I could no longer hide my body cleverly with clothing, and realized I was the heaviest and unhealthiest I've ever been. I also am a nanny and I wanted to have more energy to run around with the little ones and keep from getting sick!

Why I Love It:

I love the accomplishment, it is also a great means of stress relief, because I have been through a lot in my life and its a good way to work out the anger and be at peace. I love the warm feeling I get during and the happiness I feel after, and I love the new found energy and the way my body feels as I start to get healthier

How I Stay Motivated:

Continually facing my pictures, looking at pictures of Vida Guerra and imagining how wonderful I would look and feel if I were in shape. Thinking about having children of my own and how young I am to be so unhealthy. Thinking about my ten year high school reunion and being the most in shape fox there ;op h
