My name is Kandice and I am 27 years old. I have been trying, like so many of us, to find that secret to a healthy lifestyle for what seems like forever. Now, I think I have finally found it. It has been a little over 3 months since I decided once and for all to change my lifestyle and become the fit and healthy person I have always known that I could be. It has been hard work and has taken a lot of determination, but the results are well worth all the effort. In the past I have done well, but only with temporary changes. This time I realized the it has to be an all around lifestyle change in order for the changes to stick, once and for all.

When I started here in December 2008, I weighed 199.0 lbs and made myself a goal of losing 79 lbs to get down to my goal weight of 120 lb by December 2009. So far I have lost 30 lbs. I have come a long way, but have even further to go. I am no longer feeling like it will take too long to get to where I want to go though. With a new mind set, I now realize that this time is going to pass no matter how I use it. If I use it wisely, I will get where I want much faster. There is no time limit or end date on my goal. I know that it won't truly end when I am 120 lbs, or on December 1, 2009. It is for the rest of my life. Always being aware of making healthy choices and waking up every morning getting in a good workout. Not because I have a deadline to meet, but because I have a life to live.

Overall:
My goal is to be comfortable with myself. Not to get another 6 months down the road and know that in that time I could have gotten in shape. I don't want to waste anymore time.

#1:
Lose 20 lbs and reach 179.0

#2:
Lose 40 lbs total and reach 159.0
**DONE 5/19/09**

#3:
Lose 60 lbs total and reach 139.0

#4:
Lose 79 lbs total and reach goal weight of 120.0 lb by 12/1/09

#5:
Get waist under 32" to be healthy.

#6: Run a 5k

My Program:
Diet:
I am going to stick to a nutrition program of clean eating - that simple, yet that hard. Lean proteins, complex carbs along with fruits, veggies and good fats combined in meals to eat every 3 hours.

Workouts:
5/5/09
--Weight Training--
For the next 2 weeks I am changing up my routine to keep things fresh. Mon-Sat I will be weight training along with cardio workouts.
MWF Upper Body
TTS Lower Body
(Usually not this much weight training but I am in the last 2 weeks of my weight loss competition and I am kicking up a bit to try and shed as much more weight as I can).


--Cardio--
I am mainly running. I run on MWF mornings and longer runs on the weekend, usually early Sunday morning.
On T/Th mornings for cardio I am doing spin classes at the gym and also on Saturday mornings. On Mondays and Saturdays I am also doing group bootcamps.



Personal Information:
I am 27 years old and work in healthcare. I work with kids and love my job. Have a little one of my own. Going to school for nursing. Love reading and family time. Like the outdoors. We camp and have a boat that we take to the lake a short drive from our house. Good life.

Thing That I Love:

Oxygen Magazine. This magazine is completely dedicated to a healthy lifestyle. Endless info and great articles on clean eating and working out to get the best physique possible for you.

Tosca Reno's Clean Eating Diet book and Clean Eating Cookbook. These have taught me SO much about nutrition and what is needed to achieve goals.

Jogging Stroller. Since my daughter was nine months old, this is the stroller that she has most been in. Great for runs at the park track for me and then playtime for her. Cardio without a babysitter also!

i pod. Don't know how I would get through cardio without this little thing! It is also great while doing weights because it puts you in your own little world and keeps people from distracting you with conversation.

HeartRate Moniter
I love knowing how many calories I am burning. Knowing makes all the difference instead of estimating. It puts my workouts into perspective and gives me new goal
