Hi, I'm working out, weight training and body sculpting to get fitter to enter my 60's as healthy and fit as possible.

Member Since: 2/11/2008

My Goals:
To be buff enough by summer to consider entering a seniors bodybuilding contest.


My Program:
I weight train 3x a week with a personal trainer and do 60 min cardio on off days. Been working on this since last October, but had a a pretty big setback with losing trainer and then injuring knee training for and completing 50 mile semi competative bike ride. Had to go through a long process of rehab for what appeared to be a tendonitis , only to find out that it was really arthritis of both knees.
( Bummer.)
After getting that diagnosis, I had to start almost from scratch strengthing legs and getting upper body back into shape.
Progress has been slower this time around.
Final weight loss ( 14 lbs total to competative weight ) seems to be taking forever, although I have a good eating proigram and have finally started keeping detailed records of food intake and calories burned and training. I am seeing progress now, after about 6 weeks of faithful journaling.



Personal Information:
I really love weight training. Been doing it off and on for several years. This is first time I've ever tried to see just how far I can take it.
New trainer has been great to work with. He leaves no session time unused. Believes is working another part of your body while you rest the first one so you get a lot of bang for your workout.


Other Information:
I'm 59+ and sometimes it amazes me how much more I can accomplish than kids less than half my age - and I have to deal with the issues of arthritis in knees, wrists and lower back.
