I am laughing- I am the chatty cathy on your page. So you have run Boston before? What did you think? Did you do that same time- 3:05? That is amazing. Best to you and yours. I tweaked my running today- still did 7 mile repeats- BUT nothing in between. Felt good.

She is not a coach. She actually gets mad at me that I refer to her as one. She is just an AWESOME runner- like you. She's done 4 marathons- 2 under 3:30 and 2 under 3:50 so I respect her insights and training suggestions. I really do not run them as FAST as I can but I am focusing more on speed when I do the miler repeats. I will drop the strength training in between on those days. So by active recovery- do you mean slow down and jog then go right back into the next one? AWESOME times. You are amazing! I belong to Greater Lowell Road Runners. No where near your ability, but trying to improve. My goal is to break 4 hrs then I am putting a fork in marathon running. It will be my 4th one. Thanks so much for the tips. My goal for 5k this year- break 22!

My coach is having me do what you suggested. I did speed work today. she really isn't my coach- just a good friend and an experienced runner who has taken on the marathon- and won. I will try that sometime- the 300 outside instead of on track. I am running outside too. I run 5k simulated races starting this Saturday - my club puts them on. Called the Fudgicle Series- held Jan- Feb every Saturday morning. I plan to do as many of those as I can. This way- can do some speed work and sort of take a day off on these days. Long runs will be done on Sundays. I am up to 10 miles now- running that in a comfortable 8:20 pace so I am on my way now to adding more miles.
