My relationship with my body and with my fitness is very love/hate. I think perhaps my biggest problem is the fact that I'm chronically lazy. I'm trying to remember exactly how many times I've tried to begin a fitness/health regimen with this point, I think I'm up to three failed "attempts". Recently I've been reading all of the daily email digests and have been browsing various groups and sparkpages, which has given me the motivation to try again and actually succeed in achieving my weight loss goals.

My renewed enthusiasm probably comes from that fact that I just moved to New Zealand for Med School. I'm originally from NZ so it's not completely foreign to me, but moving here has been much more difficult than I'd imagined. While I am a fairly outgoing person, I feel as though I'm hiding behind my weight and it's preventing me from living my life here to the fullest.

While I've always struggled with my body-image, I have (until recently) been very active and quite in shape. Up until I went to college (at ASU- Go Devils!), I was a competitive swimmer- often practicing 2x a day for several hours at a time. When I stopped swimming, I unfortunately didn't stop eating, and the all you can eat dining halls combined with regular drinking really did nothing for my waistline! Now that I'm in NZ, I'm seeing how thin and fit most of the people are, and I'm really eager to drop some lbs and get healthy!

My Goals:
Prior to college I was very active, as I was a competitive swimmer. I not only want to get back to my high school weight, but also get back in shape so I can compete in triathlons!

My Program:
I'm going to (try) to make it to Masters swim practices at least 3 times a week as well as hit the gym at school on my days off from swimming.
I'm already in pretty decent shape, so I think my bigger problem will be changing my eating habits...
