Hello
I just joined sparkpeople today 1/23/08
I heard about this web site thru a weight lose program that I joined last week where I work. This web site is just what I need to help me with my journey to creating a healthier life style for myself and my family.
I live in Maine, I'm married, I have three girls 22, 18 & 13
I have a 100 lb Lab that thinks he is a person, and is a huge part of our family. I enjoy cooking, watching the Patriots, hanging out with friends and going to camp in the Western Mountains.

I am looking for support and motivation to get me to my goal weight.

Fitness Minutes: 325

My Goals:
To stay motivated!
To keep walking!
To drink water!
To watch what I eat and drink on the weekends.
To find some "Me" time.
To draw or paint again.
To take a "real" vacation
To keep working till I am 55.
To live in a 100% completed home.

My Program:
I am trying NOT to call my new lifestyle a DIET, that is such a nasty word. I am currently trying to limit my calorie intake, make good food choices, drink at least three glasses of water a day and exercise 5 days a week.

Slow and steady weight lose.

Personal Information:
I am a huge dog lover, my husband and I used to raise sled dogs years ago but now only have one.

He is an 100 pound yellow lab \ shepard mix (buddy)
I adopted him from the SPCA when he was just 8 weeks old, he was fixed before we adopted him and while on the operating table he flat lined. He was brought back to life and now he thinks he is a real person.
He is like no other dog I have ever owned, since the day we brought him home he has been nothing but another child. Where ever we go the dog goes, he is so mellow and smart that he never needs a leash on him, he will obey all voice commands and understands every word you tell him.
He has been going to daycare everyday for the past 8 years at my Mother in-laws who is 83 years old, we drop him off in the morning and pick him up after work, the joke is "who is really watching who?" I think she loves that dog more then I do if you can just imagine that happening after reading this. She tells everyone that he really isn

Other Information:
Have been living with Osteo-Arthritis for 12 years in my hips, knees, shoulder and jaws.
Have a herniated C5-C6 disc in my neck, L5-S1 disc in my lower back is gone and I have other degenerated discs in my back.

My guess for the quick views I get of your background picture was Sebec Lake. Haven't seen you on Maine Connections lately - we miss you! Libby

Hi, I saw your post on Maine Connections

What the heck do you think you are doing, letting yourself slide like that??? Get back with it for crying out loud!! You have lost 12 pounds.

Wouldnt you just be so bummed out to find that youve gained it all back?

It feels so GOOD to be healthier doesnt it? To be doing something, even if it isnt giving you the best results, to at least be trying...

    try try TRY!!!

Wish I could take my own advice!! Im having a hard time too. Want to help each other? I challange you to ONE day of being good. We will see who can go the longest. ;)
