So ever since I started back at school last April 2011, I lost all motivation to continue going to the gym and eating healthy. I was able to maintain for a few months, but these last couple months during the Holidays have been a real struggle. I have ended up gaining 15+ pounds in the last 2 months and honestly I feel like crap! I frequently get stomach aches from the horrible food I'm eating, my back and knees have started to hurt again, I feel tired all the time, I'm not sleeping good, I have no energy and I'm not happy with going backwards on my journey.

Everything was so much better and I was so much happier when I was going to the gym 2-4 times a week, tracking my food and eating healthy. I need to find that Spark again....I CAN'T go back to where I was before....I just can't accept that as an option!!!

So here's to a New Year full of new challenges and most importantly, new SUCCESSES!! :)

Hi there, my name is Mandi! I'm 24 years old and currently reside in Bothell, WA. I have battled weight all of my life...I was even a heavy baby at 10 pounds! lol I used to weigh 250 pounds at my heaviest a few years back. I decided to make a change for the better and lose some weight. I became a vegetarian, exercised at least 4 times a week and cut out sweets and fast food. I ended up getting down to about 170 pounds. I thought I was doing well until some stressful changes/events took place in my life and I quickly turned to food as a comfort once again. A huge reason for this was the fact that I had never really dealt with the reason "why" I had become fat in the first place while losing this weight. I soon stopped exercising and got discouraged to continue my weight loss altogether. I became a statistic and ended up gaining all of the weight back plus another 70 pounds within about a year and a half.

Up until July of 2010 I was "stuck" around 300 pounds. I would diet on and off about every other month, but it would never stick more than about 2-3 weeks. Back in July I found out my Dad needed to have an Angioplasty and a Stint implanted. It scared me more than I would have ever thought! When I saw him in that hospital bed before and after the surgery, I knew I was looking at my future if I continued on this unhealthy path! My mother also ended up in the hospital with Congestive Heart Failure a few years back and almost died at 56 years of age. Her body slowly retained 70 pounds of water and constricted her lungs to the point of oxygen deprivation. She remained in the ICU for 2 weeks while they removed all the excess fluid from her body.

Seeing my dad and mom in situations that probably could have been completely prevented if they were living healthier lives has been motivation enough for me to start a healthier life for myself. I just wish they would make the same choice for themselves, but I have to worry about "me" right now and just hope that I inspire them to want something better for themselves in the future!

I'm here with the same intentions as everybody else...I need to get healthy for myself and my future, and I'd love to meet some new and inspiring friends in the process!! :)

Hi! My name is Mandi! I was born and raised in Washington state...it absolutely lives up to its title of the Evergreen State!! I currently work with Pre-School children and love what I do...most days! lol It's a job that definitely keeps me on my toes, which is a good thing when you're trying to lose weight!! lol


Other Information:
I'd like to lose weight so I can start living a healthier and more active life!! I want to start dating more, traveling the world, and getting outdoors more often (ie backpacking, hiking, snowboarding, rock climbing, river rafting). I just want to be able to do the things I love without wondering if my weight will get in the way. I'm DONE being fat.....I'm SO ready to get healthy again!!!! :)
